| Wumeng crested chickens is an unique poultry resource in the Liu pan-shui area.In order to find out the distribution of Wumeng crested chickens in Liu pan-shui city and explore main production performance of Wumeng crested chickens,this study surveied the central production area and population size of Wumeng crested chickens,and measured its'growth performance,reproductive performance,slaughter and meat quality.This study will promote the development and utilization of the chickens'species resources.In this article,the investigation of the genetic resources of Wumeng crested chickens was expounded.Through measured the slaughter and meat quality of the chickens,the best slaughter age of Wumeng crested chickens were explored,which provides a theoretical basis for the protection and development of Wumeng crested chickens germplasm resources.The results were reported below:1.The distribution area of Wumeng crested chickens resources was large,and some of them are scattered.There are more than 27,000 chickens,most of them focus on the preservation and expansion of the field,and the farmers have a small amount of aquaculture.Among them,Baohua Town and Qiong Town were the central production areas,with about 24,000 chickens,and the Baohua Town was the conservation and expansion field of Wumeng crested chickens;Bied Town and Steep Town were the main distribution area,about 1,800 pigeons;Zhong-zhai Township,Niu-chang Township and other places were scattered areas with about 1,200 feathers.2.Wumeng crested chickens had unique characteristics of crested,with crown feathers,with the white and black skin,black bones,hemp feathers,white feathers,black feathers and other traits.There also may be more resource types,which can be used as a mechanism to study the appearance of traits.The adult cock of Wumeng crested chickens'weighs were 2052g~2350g,and the adult hen weighs were1638g~1865g.Mathematical simulations of the growth and development of Wumeng chicken were carried out using three growth curve models:Logistic,Gompers and Bertaffany.Using the three growth curve models of Logistic,Gompers and Bertaffany to simulate the growth and development of Wumeng crested chickens,the results show that the von Bertalanffy growth curve model wes relatively best,the cock turning point was 7.868 weeks,and the inflection point weight was 659.606g.the hen's inflection point was 7.475 weeks old and the inflection point weight was492.885g.3.Wumeng crested chickens'egg shape index was 1.38,eggshell strength was30.73±8.48N/cm~2,eggshell thickness was 0.36±0.04mm,Hastelloy unit was65.88±3.56,average egg weight was 49.06±4.63g,egg yolk weight was 17.87±1.88g,the ratio of egg yolk was 36.47±2.73%,and the color of egg yolk was 5.91±1.33.Wumeng crested chickens had the good egg shape index,eggshell strength and eggshell thickness index,but their slow growth and low reproductive rate have affected the population size and hindered the development of Wumeng crested chickens industry.4.The slaughter rate of Wumeng crested chickens'male hens at 210,240,270,and 300 days old were over 88%,the total net sputum rate were over 66%,the average chest muscle rate were over 15%,and the average leg muscle rate were 24%.In summary,the meat performance of Wumeng crested chickens was better.The docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)of Wumeng crested chicken was 1.40%or more,and the arachidonic acid(ARA)was above 9.04%,and the content of unsaturated fatty acids in Wumeng chicken at 210,240,270,and 300 days was 36%,which was greater than that of saturated fatty acids(32.59%).In summary,Wumeng crested chickens was a quality chickens.The palm oleic acid in Wumeng crested chickens at 240 days old was 1.87±0.9%,which was significantly higher than that of 300-day-old Wumeng crested chickens,and also higher than 210 and 270-day-old Wumeng crested chickens.The muscle aroma of Wumeng crested chickens was higher than that of 300-day-old and other age-old Wumeng crested chickens.The linolenic acid contained in the240-day-old Wumeng crested chickens was significantly higher than the 300-day-old Wumeng chicken,which was higher than the 210 and 270-day-old Wumeng crested chickens.In summary,the 240-day-old chicken was more flavored in the four stages of appeal.In this study,Wumeng crested chickens was determined by comprehensive analysis of the slaughter rate,muscle pH,flesh color,tenderness,water loss rate,protein content,creatinine acid,intermuscular fat,zinc,selenium,essential amino acids and flavor amino acids.According to the experiment,the best age for Wumeng Crested Chickens is 240 days old. |
