The Effect Of ShiYingZi Powder And Its Extracts On Chicken Coccidiosis

Chicken coccidiosis is a global protozoan disease,which has brought great harm to the world’s aquaculture industry.At present,the control of coccidiosis mainly depends on chemical drugs,but the long-term abuse of chemical drugs leads to the two major problems:drug resistance and drug residue,they are becoming more and more serious.Therefore,the prevention and treatment of chicken coccidiosis with traditional Chinese medicine came into being in this context.The traditional Chinese medicine formula ShiYingZi powder are made up of dandelion,Fructus Cnidii and salt.This experiment was conducted to study the effect of ShiYingZi powder and extractive on chicken coccidiosis.The purpose of this experiment is to lay a foundation for the development of Chinese veterinary coccidiosis drug,methods and results are as followed:1.Prevention experiment of ShiYingZi powderThe experiment was divided into six groups,which were low dose group（5g/kg）,middle dose group（10g/kg）,high dose group（15g/kg）,positive drug group（monensin）,blank control group and model group,there were 20 chickens in each group.At 12^th day of age,the low,medium,high doses of ShiYingZi powder group and positive drug group were added into the diet,the normal group and untreated group were fed with normal diet.At14^th day of age,chicks except those in blank group were inoculated with 2×10⁴ sporulated oocysts of E.tenella.Through the determination of the corresponding anti-coccidiosis indices,blood biochemical indices and pathological section to evaluate prevention experiment of ShiYingZi powder.The results showed that ShiYingZi powder could reduce the elevation of serum glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase,creatinine and urea nitrogen in chickens infected with coccidia,and increase the decrease of albumin and triglyceride in chickens infected with coccidia.ShiYingZi powder can effectively improve the survival rate and relative growth rate,protect chickens and reduce the damage of chickens caused by coccidiosis,and the highest anti-coccidial index of middle dose group was 165which is a middle-effective anti-coccidial drug.Pathological observation showed that ShiYingZi powder can effectively alleviate the pathological changes in the cecum,liver and kidney.2.Therapeutic experiment of ShiYingZi powderThe experiment was divided into six groups,which were low dose group（5g/kg）,middle dose group（10g/kg）,high dose group（15g/kg）,positive drug group（sodium sulfachlorpyrazine）,blank control group and model group,there were 20 chickens in each group.At 14^th day of age,chicks except those in blank group were inoculated with 2×10⁴sporulated oocysts of E.tenella.When the chicks were infected,the positive control group and three anticoccidial powder groups started the drug delivery.Through the determination of the corresponding anticoccidiosis indices,blood biochemical indices and pathological section to evaluate therapeutic experiment of ShiYingZi powder.The results showed that ShiYingZi powder could reduce the elevation of serum glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase,creatinine and urea nitrogen in chickens infected with coccidia,and increase the decrease of albumin and triglyceride in chickens infected with coccidia.ShiYingZi powder can effectively improve the survival rate and relative growth rate,protect chickens and reduce the damage of chickens caused by coccidiosis,and the highest anti-coccidial index of high dose group was142 which is a low-effective anti-coccidial drug.Pathological observation showed that ShiYingZi powder can effectively alleviate the pathological changes in the cecum,liver and kidney.3.Extraction of anti-coccidiosis active components from ShiYingZi powder and observation of its therapeutic effect on chicken coccidiosisShiYingZi powder was extracted by petroleum ether,chloroform,ethyl acetate,ethanol and water successively,culture of unsporulated coccidial oocysts with five extracts in vitro and observe the inhibitory effect of five extracts on sporulation of oocyst in vitro on day 4and day 8,to select the best extract and calculate the half lethal dose of best extract and used the best extract as an anti-coccidiosis drug to treat chicken coccidiosis and to determine the anti-coccidial index and calculate the anti-coccidial index of drugs.The results showed that ethanol extract had the best effect on inhibiting the sporulation rate of oocysts,and the half lethal dose was 234.68 ug/ml,and the anti-coccidial index of ShiYingZi powder ethanol extract is 114.
