As a traditional industry in China,grassland animal husbandry has made great progress in recent years with the Internet of Things technology.The cattle industry has an important position,but it still faces challenges.It is impossible to carry out scientific and effective monitoring of the estrus,health and grassland grazing intensity of cattle,which seriously restricts the intelligent development of the cattle industry.The main reason is that it is difficult to achieve carrier network coverage and grid power supply in the grassland environment,so it is very difficult to collect herd monitoring data in real time,and the complex grassland environment and unique grazing method require the data acquisition system to have low power consumption,low cost,long communication distance,strong stability and flexibility,but existing data acquisition systems are often difficult to meet these requirements.In view of the above problems,this paper combines the characteristics of LPWAN technology to propose a grassland cattle behavior monitoring system to provide data support for grassland grazing intensity research,grazing cattle health and estrus monitoring model establishment and operation,so that real-time monitoring becomes may.The development of LPWAN technology represented by LoRa makes the establishment of the system possible.The system framework of this paper mainly includes three parts: LoRa collar node,LoRa gateway and data management center.The collar node mainly integrates the sensor module and the communication module,and is the collector of the data;the gateway is mainly composed of the host and the gateway concentrator,and is the data forwarder;the data management center mainly completes the analysis of the trajectory data and the operation of the classification model of the motion behavior,and is the analyst of the data.This paper sets the research focus to the study of the collar node and the data management center.There are three difficulties in the design of the collar node.The first is to realize the acquisition of sensor data,and it is necessary to ensure the stable acquisition of sensor data in a complex external environment;the second is to realize long-distance data transmission,which requires far enough communication distance and guarantee the completeness of data transmission;the third is to achieve the above two requirements while also minimizing the power consumption of the collar node.The difficulty in the design of the data management center is to establish a high-accuracy operational behavior classification model.The system studied in this paper has been applied in a certain grassland area,and the system stability,communication distance,node power consumption and behavior classification model have been tested in detail.After testing and analysis,the system basically meets the requirements of communication distance,power consumption and stability.The behavior classification model has higher discrimination accuracy for easy-todifferentiate behavior,and the system is basically suitable for complex grassland environment.The application of LPWAN technology in the field of smart farm construction has expanded its development in this field,and at the same time has a certain role in promoting the application research of grassland animal husbandry Internet of Things technology.
