Arginine as an essential amino acid for maintaining optimal growth and nitrogen balance in mammals,especially young animals,plays an important role in protein anabolism,improving intestinal immunity,and the synthesis of polyamines and nitric oxide.However,arginine is relatively expensive to use and may interfere with the metabolism of other amino acids when added at effective doses in the diet.Therefore,arginine cannot be widely used in animal production.As a structural analogue of arginine synthesis activator NAG,NCG is characterized by low price and convenient synthesis,which can well compensate for the deficiency of arginine.Besides,it has stable metabolism,long half-life and extensive biological functions.It plays an important role in enhancing the immune function of the body.NO has a variety of biological activities in the body,and NCG can improve the level of NO synthesis and enhance the immune function of the body.In this study,Kunming-mice were administered with different doses of NCG continuously to study the effects of NCG on the immune function of mice.A control group(group A,0mg/kg),A low-dose group(group B,500mg/kg),A medium-dose group(group C,1000mg/kg)and A high-dose group(group D,1500mg/kg)were administered continuously for 28 days.The results showed that :(1)NCG could promote the growth of mice.(2)NCG can significantly improve thymus index and spleen index of mice(P < 0.05)(3)high-dose NCG can increase the content of IFN-? in serum of mice(P < 0.01).(4)high-dose NCG can significantly increase the level of serum Ig G in mice(P < 0.01).(5)high-dose of NCG can significantly increase the level of intestinal mucosa s Ig A(P < 0.01),increase the height of intestinal villi,and reduce the depth of cryptos.(6)high-doses of NCG can significantly increase the production of NO and NOS in the liver of mice(P < 0.01),the content of NO in the spleen is greater than that in the liver,and the content of NOS in the liver is greater than that in the spleen.(7)NCG significantly increased SOD activity in mouse liver(P < 0.01),(8)NCG had no significant effect on proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes(P >0.05).These conclusions indicated that NCG can improve the immune organ index,serumcytokine content,serum and mucosal antibody levels of mice,and promote the development of intestinal mucosa,suggesting that NCG can promote the immune function of mice.NCG can increase the synthesis level of NO and NOS in serum,liver and other tissues of mice,suggesting that the enhanced effect of NCG on the immune function of mice may be related to the increased synthesis level of NO.
