| The reproductive mode of sweetpotato mainly depends on seedling transplanting.How to quickly provide a large number of high-quality sweetpotato seedlings is a research hotspot.At present,the emergence of sweetpotato is reflected by the germination property.However,there is no uniform evaluation standard for the germination property of sweetpotato.In the research,12 sweetpotato varieties with significant germination property differences were used as experimental materials to explore suitable indicators for the evaluation of sweetpotato storage roots germination property.At the same time,the nutrients,physical property and hormones were studied in the process of sweetpotato storage roots germination property.The main results were as follows:(1)The germination property of sweetpotato storage roots showed a significant negative correlation with the emergence time and germination time,and it was very significantly positively correlated with the weight and number of seedlings per unit,as well as the roughness of seedling.Therefore,the germination property of sweetpotato varieties can be evaluated by measuring emergence time,germination time,the weight of seedlings per unit,the number of seedlings per unit and the roughness of seedling.(2)Dry matter was continuously consumed in the germinating process of sweetpotato storage roots.As the number of days of seeding increased,the starch rate continued to decrease,the content of reducing sugar fluctuated,and the content of soluble protein and crude fiber changed little.The activity of a-amylase is higher in the early stage of sweetpotato storage roots germination,and the activity of P-amylase is higher in the seedling stage of sweetpotato.In our experiment,the germination property of sweetpotato storage roots was significantly positively correlated with a-amylase activity,and it showed a significant negative correlation with soluble protein.Therefore,the a-amylase activity can be used as an important indicator for selecting the sweetpotato variety.(3)In terms of physical property,with the increase of seeding days,the hardness of sweetpotato storage roots decreased continuously,and the change of adhesiveness was different in different varieties.The adhesiveness of poorly germinated varieties decreased greatly.The springiness of different varieties revealed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing.The change in cohesiveness was small.The germination property of sweetpotato storage roots had a significant correlation with its adhesiveness and springiness.Consequently,adhesiveness and springiness could be regarded as important indicators for breeding sweetpotato varieties.(4)In the matter of endogenous hormones,there was a significant increase in IAA and GA3 during sweet potato storage roots germination,and ABA decreased significantly or remained at a low level.There was a significant negative correlation between ABA content and germination property,indicating that ABA inhibited the germination property of sweetpotato.IAA/ABA was significantly positively correlated with germination property,which indicated that the antagonistic effect played a significant role in sweetpotato storage roots germination property between IAA and ABA. |
