In present study,Suffolk ewes in anestrous season were treated with different combination in melatonin?MLT?,medroxyprogesterone acetate?MPA?,prostaglandin?PG?,N-Methyl-D-aspartic acid?NMDA?,letrozole?LE?.The level of reproductive hormones in each ewe blood plasma was determined.These data will supple the evidence in methodology and pharmacology for improving ewe reproductive performance.40 Suffolk ewes?75.51+11.55 kg?,3-years-old,were divided into 4 groups randomly,ewes in control group were fed with basal diet,ewes in treatment I group were fed with basal diet and 10 mg/d MLT,ewes in treatment II group were fed with basal diet suppled 10 mg/d MLT and 7 mg/d LE,ewes in treatment III groups were fed with basal diet suppled 10 mg/d MLT,7 mg/d LE and 300 mg/d NMDA.After 21-day treatment,the level of blood plasma hormone of ewes in each group was checked.The results indicated that level of GnRH,FSH,E2,E3 T and DHT were increased very significantly?P<0.01?in ewes in MLT treatment.In treatment of MLT and LE,level of MLT and LH in ewe blood plasma were increased very significantly?P<0.01?,and FSH was increased significantly?P<0.05?.the level of MLT and GnRH was increased significantly?P<0.05?in ewes of combined treatment with MLT,LE and NMDA.In treatment of MLT and LE,the MLT level was increased significantly?P<0.05?and LH,T were increased very significantly?P<0.01?.39 Suffolk ewes?75.51+11.55 kg?,3-years-old,were randomly divided into 3 groups.ewes in treatment I were fed with basal diet suppled with 34 mg/d MPA and 1 mL PG intramuscular injection.Ewes in treatment II were fed with basal diet with 34 mg/d MPA and 600 mg/d NMDA.Ewes in treatment III were fed with basal diet with 34 mg/d MPA and 14 mg/d LE.After 18-day treatment,the ewes in each group were tease hybridization and hormones level in their blood serum was determined.The results indicated,FSH level was increased very significantly?P<0.01?of ewes in treatment of MPA and PG.the ewes estrous rate was 76.92%,reproduction rate was 84.62%and twinning rate was 10%.In NMDA treatment group,P4,FSH and LH level in plasma were increased very significantly?P<0.01?,and the ewes estrous rate was 69.23%,reproductive rate was 130.77%,and twinning rate was 88.89%.in LE treatment,the level of MLT and T in ewe plasma were increased very significantly?P<0.01?.However,ewes estrous rate was 30.77%,reproductive rate was 38.46%,and twinning rate was 25%.In summary,in the anestrous season the level of reproductive-related hormones in ewe plasma could be increased by the regulation of melatonin on the hypothalamic-pituitary gland-gonad axis.With the LE supplement,the level of MLT and T levels in ewe plasma was increased.MPA could be used for start-up ewe estrus.Supplement with NMDA the twinning rate and reproductive rate could be increased in the ewe.The estrus and ovulation could be improved in ewes that treatment with combination of MPA,PG,LE and NMDA.
