Investigation Of Forestry Pest And Its Main Occurrence Characteristics In Xintai Taipingshan Provincial Nature Reserve

Xintai Taipingshan Provincial Nature Reserve was established in 2009 and is a forest-type nature reserve mainly for the protection of red pine.Taipingshan is a branch of the Luzhongtaiyi,with steep mountains and numerous valleys.The main peak is Taipingding813.6 meters above sea level and the relative height difference is 520 meters.Taipingshan is a sandy mountainous area.The bedrock is dominated by igneous rocks,granite,and sheet hemp rocks.There are quartzite and pyroclastic rocks.The total operating area of the protected area is 990 hectares,the forest area is 915 hectares,and the forest coverage rate is 92.4 %.The main tree species are red pine,black pine,Birch pine,and quail,and there is a small amount of hedgehog.Among them,670 hectares of pine,accounting for 73.2 % of the forest area;Robinia 148 hectares,accounting for 16.2 % of the forest area;The other 97 hectares,10.6 %.At present,there are many types of forest pests in the reserve,which have certain impact on the development of the reserve.In order to ensure the effectiveness of the sustainable development of the reserve and protect biodiversity,it is necessary to regard forest pests as the primary issue and do well in the prevention and control of forest pests.Therefore,this thesis investigated the forestry pests in the reserve.Quantifying assessments about the effect of pests will be made by making plans from which we can know the effect of pests.Further analysis on the characteristics of pest occurrence will be studied.And then I will study the prevention and control measures against pests.After doing these things,I hope the loss which caused by pests can reduced and ensure the healthy development of forest resources.This thesis mainly investigated the forest pests in Mount Taiping Provincial Nature Reserve in Xintai.It also studied the pest species which affect the growth of forest and wood quality in the reserve.According to the investigation,there are many pure forests and fewmixed forest in the reserve.That’s the main cause of pests.There are also other reasons such as incomplete mountain sealing,inadequate management and protection,and untimely monitoring.All these above further led to the expansion of pest occurrence scale in the reserve.Analysis of the forest pests occurrence regularity and pest control technologies have been discussed after the investigation.Forest pests have been effectively controlled in the reserve.The thesis provides important data about forest pests research to Xintai City and even the whole province.It further promotes the ecological sustainable development of the reserve.
