In this experiment,61 different types of maize varieties purchased in the market in 2017 were used as materials.The seeds were divided into three types according to different shapes,and the field emergence rate and cold tolerance germination rate were taken as the standard.The correlation between physical and chemical characters of maize seeds and seed vigor was analyzed.Under the condition of clarifying the relationship between the characters and seed vigor,it provided a reference basis for maize seed breeding and seed processing and grading.The main findings are as follows:1.The relationship between physical characters of maize seeds and seed vigor: 1000-grain weight,specific gravity and seed vigor have no significant correlation,indicating that the vigor of maize seeds can not be judged by 1000-grain weight and specific gravity;There was a significant positive correlation between seed bulk density and germination rate at low temperature,which indicated that the higher the bulk density was,the higher the seed vigor was.There was no significant correlation between the color characteristics of horse tooth type and semi horse tooth type in the three types of maize seeds and the germination rate of the two varieties.The results showed that the vigor of maize seeds could not be judged by the color characteristics of physical scanning.In the scanning characteristics of hard grain maize seeds,there was a significant negative correlation between G value,B value,L value,H value,gray value and field emergence rate,which indicated that the higher the seed vigor was,the lower the G value,B value,L value,H value,and gray value,the higher the seed vigor.There was a significant positive correlation between A value,S value and field emergence rate,which indicated that A value and S value.The higher the seed vigor of hard grain maize seeds was,the higher the D value,R value,E value and seed vigor were,which indicated that the seed vigor of hard grain maize varieties could not be judged by D value or R value or E value.The correlation between seed width and seed vigor was not significant,which indicated that the width could not be used to judge the vigor of maize seed.The total length of maize seed was significantly positively correlated with the germination rate at low temperature,and the length value of semi-horse tooth variety was significantly positively correlated with the germination rate at low temperature,which indicated that the longer the seed length,the higher the seed vigor.Especially in semi-horseshoe corn seeds.Jade The total projection area of rice tested seeds was significantly positively correlated with the germination rate at low temperature,and the projection area of semi-horse tooth type seeds was significantly positively correlated with the low temperature germination rate,which indicated that the larger the projected area of seeds was,the higher the seed area was.The higher the seed vigor,the more significant the semi-horseshoe maize varieties were.The relationship between chemical composition of maize seed and seed vigor: the correlation between starch content and protein content and seed vigor was not significant,indicating that the level of seed vigor could not be judged by starch content and protein content;There was a significant positive correlation between the fat content and the germination rate at low temperature,which indicated that the higher the fat content of maize seed was,the higher the seed vigor was.
