The exposed steep rock slopes are widely distributed and have poor aesthetic appearance.Falling stones, falling blocks and collapses are common. In order to eliminate these unfavorable phenomena and realize the "beautiful mountains and rivers" concept,"rapidly greening of steep rock slopes" is one of the effective measures. We developed the physical model, planned the simulation conditions, and conducted model tests to explore the steep slope greening technology.Obtained some valuable results and conclusions, mainly including:① Gradient effect:Three gradients of 50 °,60°,and 70° were designed. When the conditions are type Ⅰ groove,non-fertilizer stroma and the moisture content of the stroma is low,the average height h curves of the plants in the models with gradients of 60 ° and 70 ° are entangled with each other. However, when the gradient is reduced to 50 °,the average height h is 11%to 35%larger than the average value when the gradients are 60° and 70°.When the conditions are type I groove,non-fertilizer stroma and the moisture content of the stroma is high, changes in gradient have little effect on average plant height. When the conditions are type II groove and fertilizer stroma, regardless of the moisture content of the stroma, the change in gradient has no significant effect on the average height of the plant. The test results show that the slope has an effect on plant growth under certain conditions, and the gentle slope is more conducive to plant growth and development. The main reason for this is that after watering, the soil will be flushed by the water flow, which will take away the soil particles and the nutrients contained therein. The greater the slope, the more obvious this scouring action will be.②Groove type effect:Two kinds of grooves were designed in the experiment, including Type I(3 cm in thickness)and Type II(6 cm in thickness). When the conditions are 50°,60 ° and 70° gradients, fertilizer stroma, whether the moisture content of the stroma is low or high, plants grow faster in type I groove. It’ s average height h is 2%to 172%larger than that of the type Ⅱ groove model. The test results show that the type of groove, that is,the thickness of the soil has an effect on the growth and development of the plant. When the thickness of the soil is thin(about 3 cm),the average height of the plant is greater.Because under the current experimental conditions, the necessary water conditions and nutrient conditions for plant growth are sufficient,so during the test, the plant root system is relatively concentrated in the thin soil model, and it is easier to absorb water and nutrients, and the growth rate is faster.③ Stroma type effect::Two kinds of stroma type were designed in the experiment, including stroma with fertilizer and stroma without fertilizer. When the conditions are 50°,60° and 70° gradients, type I groove, whether the moisture content of the stroma is low or high, the average height h of the plants is higher in the model with the fertilizer stroma, and it is 2%to 34%higher than that without fertilizer. The test results show that the stroma type has an effect on the growth and development of the plant, and the average height of the plants in the fertilizer stroma is greater. After the end of the experiment, the results were analyzed and introspected, and the defects and improvement plans of the model and test plan were proposed in order to provide assistance for future experiments.
