| Loquat(Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)is an important fruit in South China.Guangdong possesses excellent climate and temperature,and it is very suitable for developing loquat industry.But the short cultivation time of loquat in Guangdong,the introduction of ?Zaozhong No.6?,?Jiefangzhong?,?Dawuxing? and other cultivars in Guangdong show different inadaptability,therefore,it is necessary to breed new cultivars adapted to the local ecological conditions and consumption habits,in order to better develop loquat market in Guangdong province.This research aimed to breed novelcultivars possessing both of large-fruit and excellent flesh quality to fit Guangdong fresh fruit market,the hybridization were taken between ?Zaozhong 6?,and large fruit cultivars from Spain(?Javierin?,?Peluches?,?Marc? and ?Ullera?)as parents.The expected new cultivar should be suitable for the present market,and also be with independent intellectual property rights in Guangdong Province.In this work,hybrids of ?Zaozhong No.6?×Spanish large-size cultivar(including ?Javierin?,?Peluches?,?Marc? and ?Ullera?)are taken into account.Flesh qualities such as flesh color,single fruit weight,total soluble solid(TSS),seed number,fruit shape and flavor were evaluated.Then,total sugar and titratable acid content were further measured on superior individuals with higher single fruit weight or TSS than ?Zaozhong No.6?.Meanwhile,draft conclusion on genetic characteristics of fruit size,flesh color,TSS and fruit ripening period were summarized as followed:1.The repeated selected potential lines are ZJ9,ZJ77,ZJ191,ZJ193,ZJ176 and ZU7.Their TSS contents were all about 11%,which were higher than that of ?Zaozhong 6?,and the average weight of single fruit was all about 40 g,which were higher than that of ?Zaozhong 6?.2.Among the 5 final selected lines of ?Zaojia 5?,ZJ90,?Zaojia 8?,?Zaoxibai? and ZM15,the new varietie of white meat ?Zaojia 5? were selected,and some new varieties of white meat ?Zaoxibai? and ?Zaijia 8? were selected to be approved by the new varieties of crops in Guangdong province and became the independent intellectual property rights of Guangdong province.3.The genetic phenomenon of loquat fruit color was observed: the color of the fruit flesh of the parents were yellow,however,white flesh appeared in the hybrid generation,and the loquat fruit quality of white meat was usually better than that of yellow flesh.It was preliminarily presumed that the yellow flesh showed 3:1 recessive relationship to white flesh. |
