Since a long time,crop rotation,as an important agricultural cultivation model,can avoid continuous cropping obstacles caused by crop continuous cropping,such as reduced yield,decreased soil fertility,and serious soil-borne diseases.However,at present,continuous cropping dominates in Guangdong Province,and rotation system is also dominated by traditional double-season rice cultivation and dryland vegetable linkages.There are two major problems for traditional crop rotation with few patterns and low economic benefit in Guangdong Province.Therefore,this paper summarized the main present rotation patterns and spatial distribution patterns in Guangdong through field surveys and literature review,moreover developed the “Typical Crop Rotation Optimization Expert System in Guangdong Province,” TCROES)in order to output some new rotation models and optimal rotation models which can optimize the allocation of typical crops in Guangdong,and finally provide a reference for agricultural producer and operators to make decision for suitable rotation system selection and application.The results of this paper are shown as follows:(1)A field survey of the rotation farming systems in rural areas was conducted in Guangdong,which is divided into four districts of western Guangdong,eastern Guangdong,northern Guangdong,and the Pearl River Delta.An interview-style questionnaire survey was also conducted for each area.Through field surveys and literature review,we summarized that there are more than 40 kinds of existing rotation patterns in Guangdong Province.The results showed that the double cropping rice-winter species model is the most prominent in the western part of Guangdong,and the typical rotation pattern is “early rice-late rice-capsicum”.In the north part of Guangdong,the single paddy rice –upland cropping rotation model is dominant,which include “rice-maize,rice-tobacco,and rice-potato”.In the eastern part of Guangdong,the double cropping rice-post-customary winter traditional planting covers the whole area.The main rotation pattern is “early rice-late rice-macro mustard”.In the Pearl River Delta Region,rice,and vegetables and green manure crops are the main rotational crops.Based on the comprehensive questionnaire survey,the main reasons that caused the single model of rotation with the lower economic benefits in Guangdong were: difficult to change traditional planting habits,lack of market orientation,limited economic capacity,inadequate government policies,and insufficient labor force.(2)We collected data of more than 60 typical crops in Guangdong,and established a crop property database,and a crop economic benefit database,an expert knowledge database,and a standards base for crop rotation.On the Visual Studio 2012 platform,the "Guangdong Province’s Typical Crop Rotation Optimization Expert System V1.0" was preliminarily constructed.The expert system database is saved using the office Access database,and computer C sharp language programming is used.The expert system can output the list of appropriate crops to be planted in the export area according to the crop growth attributes,,and provide the crop rotation matching scheme for the appropriate crops in a certain area,and present the crop rotation plan with better economical incomes for the output area according to the crop economic benefit database.The ticket veto function including factors of labor,capital,and planting habits were set as a one-vote veto condition.And we can delete rotation patterns that are not suitable for local production conditions.In addition,the output results can be compared,deleted,and filtered compared with the current rotation pattern library for Guangdong and the unfavorable rotation pattern library.The aim was to improve the practicality of the rotation patterns output of the expert system and realize the diversified and optimal choices of regional crop rotation.At present,the expert system still has many deficiencies.In the future research,the expert system should be further improved and the basic database of the expert system should be updated to make the system more scientific.On the research scale,the application scale of the expert system should be expanded to South China and even the whole country,to establish a nationwide crop rotation expert system. |
