The experiment performed different rotation modes, which took grain, vegetables, beans and potatoes as materials. The study was researched the relationship between different crop output and water consumption under different rotations. In addition, it was also explored the differences between the economic benefits of different combinations of rotation, to select the rotation, which has higher output and economic benefits but also high efficient use of water resources and portfolio. As a result, we can achieve high efficiency use of regional crop water through improving farming systems and optimization of crop distribution. The results showed as follows:1) With the horizontal development of crop growth, a variation of soil moisture water consumption rate increased first, then soil layers formed a water supply and demand balance at a certain period; After that, water consumption rate gradually reduced. On the other hand, with the longitudinal development of crop growth, under different manifestations of crops and rotations, the variation of soil moisture varied. Also, the rate of change was also due to significant differences in the performance of different crops.2) When the variation of periodic changes of water had higher consistency with the variation of precipitation, crop growth and development will be reduced by limiting moisture. It is good for high production. On the contrary, crop growth and development will be limited and the production will be low. In this study, water consumption of maize, soybean and potato crops has high consistency with natural water precipitation patterns.3) Among different rotation modes, total water consumption is mainly affected by crop, longer crop growth period, as well as water consumption. Under different cropping patterns, the system of crop rotation has great influence on the efficiency of water use. In this study, the efficiency of water use in descending order was:cabbage, potato, beans, maize and soybeans.4) Taken consideration of the efficiency of water use and economic benefits, the research showed that the rotation modes of millet-potatoes-cabbage and maize-potato-cabbage had highest economic benefits and higher efficiency of water use. Maize-cabbage-potato and maize-bean-potatoes had lower economic benefits, but it had the highest efficiency of water use.
