The breeding age of high quality chickens is longer, and the hens are generally kept close to sexual maturity,so more fat is usually deposited. Therefore, how to reduce fat deposition from the view of breeding is an urgent problem to be solved in high quality chicken breeding. The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of different breeding methods on quality chicken abdominal fat deposition, and to provide some theoretical basis for the cultivation of low abdominal fat rate varieties. In this study,Tianlu Yellow Chicken and Dwarf Foot Yellow Chicken provided by Guangdong Wenshi Southern Poultry breeding Co.,Ltd were selected as the research objects.Measuring body size, the method of living touch scoring on hens, slaughtering sibling, measuring the concentration of VLDL and the method of molecular marker were used to study the population. In the end,the following results were obtained:(1)In the N40909 generation population of 94-day-old,there was a moderate genetic correlation between body size traits and abdominal fat rate. The genetic correlation coefficient of cock population and hen population were 0.220~0.368 and 0.171~0.366,respectively.(2)By comparing the abdominal fat weight and abdominal fat rate of N40909 generation hens in different score groups,it was found that the P value were all less than 0.01 between group 1 and group 2,group 2 and group 3,group 2 and group 3.(3)The heritability of abdominal fat rate in N40908 population was higher, the estimated value was between 0.3 and 0.5,and the variation of abdominal fat rate was greater, the coefficient of variation of abdominal fat rate of cock was 31.8%,and that of hen was 21.2%.The rooster’s abdominal fat rate decreased by 45.6%,and the hen decreased by 14.1%,After the selection of one generation,in the N40909 generation population, the abdominal fat rate of the cock decreased by 45.6 %,and the hen decreased by 14.1 %,so the selection effect was very obvious.(4)There was a strong positive phenotypic and genetic correlation between plasma VLDL concentration and abdominal fat rate in N301 Dwarf Foot Yellow Chicken. The phenotypic correlation coefficient and genetic correlation coefficient of the test population were 0.355 and 0.840 respectively.(5)For the method of molecular marker, the T32126 C mutation site of chicken ACSL1 gene was significantly correlated with live weight(P < 0.05),and the C32013 T mutation site was significantly correlated with abdominal fat rate(weight)(P < 0.01).According to the above results, the following conclusions can be drawn: in high quality chicken strains, selecting lean individuals can reduce the abdominal fat rate of chickens; The method of touching and scoring abdominal fat volume in vivo can make a preliminary choice for the abdominal fat rate of fatter lines;Slaughtering sibling can be used to select the strains which are in urgent need of greatly reducing abdominal fat rate;Plasma VLDL concentration can be used as an indirect selection index of abdominal fat rate for high quality chicken. The C32013 T mutation site of chicken ACSL1 gene can be used as a genetic marker to select the abdominal fat rate of high quality chickens.
