Feeding operations in marine cage aquaculture in China basically rely on artificial labor, which has a large labor intensity, serious feed wastage, and uneven feed resulting in fish catching feed and causing fish body damage and other shortcomings. The existing offshore feeding systems are bulky, heavy, difficult to install, lack flexibility, and require specialized vessel installation.Because of the above problems, this paper designs a remote automatic air feeding system for marine cages and studies the key issues. The main contents are as follows:(1)Design and trial production of a remote air feed system for offshore cages. The main gantry, material gas mixing room, transmission system and control system were designed, and the fan was selected and the pressure loss was calculated. The parameters such as bulk density, density, and levitation speed were measured.Performance test tests were performed on different diameter pipes and three different diameters of particles to obtain the maximum feed rate that can be achieved for each pipe under this equipment. The maximum feeding rate of this equipment was 891 kg/h.(2)The Euler-Lagrangian model was used to simulate the gas-particle transport process. The simulation results show that the pressure of the pipeline changes with different wind speeds.Simultaneously, the particle velocity was simulated and analyzed at different wind speeds. It was concluded that the relationship between the speed of the end pellet feed and the wind speed was a quadratic function. The corresponding tests are compared with the above simulation results. The test results and simulation results tend to be consistent, indicating that the simulation guidance equipment can be further optimized and upgraded.(3)Through the study of the characteristics of no-load pipelines, the relationship between pipeline diameter, wind speed and pressure was measured and the empirical formula was fitted.Through the pipeline load test study, measuring the changes in the wind speed and pressure of the pipeline, the wind speed in the pipeline is the law of decreasing and then increasing as the loading amount increases.Through the bend resistance test study, tests were conducted on pipes with different bending radii, and the relationship between different radii and pipe resistance was obtained.Through the orthogonal test of three factors, the transmission parameters are optimized to optimize the energy consumption of the air-sending process. The test verifies the correctness of the design, and the three-factor orthogonal experiment results in an optimal energy consumption of 5.63 kW h/t.
