| Euseius ovalis(Evans)is an important predatory mites,which can prey on many pests and spider mites,such as Tetranychidae,Aleyrodidae and Thripidae.In order to assess the growth and reproduction of E.ovalis,we supplied with fresh pollen,honey,glucose,Gynaikothrips uzeli Zimmermann.,Aleuroglyphus ovatus Troupeau and artificeal diet formula,respectively.The results were as follows:1.Effects of fresh pollen on growth and reproduction of E.ovalisIn order to assess the life history of E.ovalis which fed on Ixora chinensis Lam.,Vigna unguiculata(Linn.)Walp,Hibiscus rosa-sinensis,Acacia confusa,Gossypium spp,Zea mays Linn.Sp.,we campare the developmental periods,the suvival rate and the life history parameters.The results showed that E.ovalis when feeding on V unguiculata pollen the developmenalt periods was the shortest,was 5.07 d,the survival rate was the higher,was 93,75%,the total egg production was big,was 32.33,and net reproductive rate was biggest,was 16.78,under the condition of 25± 1 ?,(RH)70 ± 5%,L:D=13:11 The results showed that,the pollen of cowpea pollen are more suitable for the growth and reproduction of E.ovalis.In order to assess E.ovalis which feeding with cowpea pollen,we compare the three generations life history of E.ovalis.The results showed that,the developmental periods of the three generations were 4.94 d,5.36 d,4.87 d respectively.The total egg production of the two generations were 33.17,27.83,the pre-oviposition were 21.67 d,17.67 d,the sex ratio were 0.92,1,the net reproductive rate were 17.52,15.42,respectively.With the same or little difference on an average generation cycle,intrinsic growth rate,fintie rate of inercase and the doubling time of the population.The results showed that,E.ovalis could produce three generations of transgenerational breedinged on cowpea pollen.In order to assess adapt to environmental conditions of E.ovalis which feeding with cowpea pollen,we compare the life history parameters of E.ovalis under the different temperature 25 ?,30 ?,35 ?.the results showed that,the developmental periods were 5.12 d,3.71 d,4.40 d,the survival rates were 93.75%,90.63%,68.75%,the single female total spawning were 32.33,10.40,19.29,grain,the sex ratio were 0.96,0.80,0.58,the net reproductive rate were 16.78,8.19,1.45,respectively.E.ovalis survival rate,single female total spawning,sex ratio,net reproductive rate showed a lower level at 35?,when compared to 25 ? and 30 ?,our results demonstrated that,high temperature had an inhibition effect on E.ovalis.2.Effect of commodity pollen on the growth of E.ovalisTo assess the influence of E.ovalis when feeding on Brassica napus,Camellia japonica,Fagopyrum esculentum,Moench pollen sold,we compared the developmental periods,the suvival rate of E.ovalis.The results showed that,the developmental periods were 8.69 d,8.98 d,9.29 d,the survival rate were 93.33%,94.45%,90.32%,respectively,but the difference was not significant.The results showed that,B.napus pollen,Cjaponica pollen,F.esculentum pollen can be used to feed E.ovalis and the effect of B.napus pollen,C.japonica pollen is more better.3.Effect of animal food on the growth of E.ovalisThe larva,nymph,adult of E.ovalis could feed on both G.uzeli eggs and A.ovatusTroupeau eggs.Besides,the feeding amount were bigger when E.ovalis feed on G.uzeli eggs.In order to assess the influence of G.uzeli eggs and A.ovatus Troupeau eggs feeding E.ovalis,we compared the developmental periods,the suvival rate of E.ovalis.The results showed that,when E.ovalis with G,uzeli eggs,the developmental periods was shorter,was 8.74 d and the survival rate was higher,was 47.37%,indicated that G.uzeli eggs were more suitable for the growth and development of E.ovalis.4.The influence of honeycomb honey,honey,glucose and other sugar nutrients on the growth of E.ovalisWe supplied with 50%beehive honey,50%winter honey,50%litchi honey and glucose to feed E.ovalis,the developmental periods were 9.75 d,14.50 d,26.00 d,15.30 d,the survival rates were 33.33%,33.33%,37.93%,17.86%,respectively.The results showed that,50%beehive honey was suitable for the growth and development of E.ovalis.5.The influence of Artificial diet formula on growth of E.ovalisIn order to evaluate the effects of E.ovalis when feeding on Artificial diet formula,we supplied with 6 Artificial diet formulas.The results showed that,artificial diet formula 1,3,5,6 can finish the growth and development of E.ovaliswith formula 6,the developmental periods was the shorter,was 6.27 d and the survival rate was the higher,was 64.40%showed that formula 6 were more suitable for the growth and development of E.ovalis. |
