The nutritional value of corn DDGS from America and its application in diet of laying ducks were evaluated in present thesis. The measurement of content of conventional nutrition component and amino acids were conducted for China dried distillers grains with soluble(DDGS)produced in China and America.Metabolizable energy and dry matter digestibility of these two corn DDGS were measured by Jinding laying ducks. The comparisons were made to evaluate the effects of American corn DDGS on laying performance and economic benefits in diet of Jinding laying ducks.1.Comparison of nutrition component content between corn DDGS from America and corn DDGS from ChinaIn this trial, the contents of moisture, crude protein, crude fiber, ether extract, ash, calcium, total phosphate and amino acids were measured for these two corn DDGS.Compared with Corn DDGS produced in China, the content of crude protein, ether extract, and phosphate were higher in Corn DDGS from America. The lower crude fiber content and similar content of calcium were found in present trial. The higher levels of Lys,Arg,thr and tyr were observed in Corn DDGS produced in America, the levels of total amino acids,Glu,Phe,Ile and Leu were similar in those two corn DDGS.2.The study of metabolic energy of corn DDGS for Jinding ducksEighteen Jinding ducks with the average body weight of 1.73±0.14 kg per bird were assigned into three groups(starvation group,American corn DDGS group and Chinese corn DDGS group)with 6 replicates per group and one duck per replicate. The metabolic energy value, metabolic energy availability, and dry matter digestibility was measured according to the Sibbald method.AME and TME of corn DDGS from America were significantly higher than those of corn DDGS from China(P<0.05).The apparent energy efficiency, true energy efficiency and dry matter digestibility of corn DDGS from America were higher than those of corn DDGS from China(P<0.1).3.Effects of different levels of corn DDGS from America on laying performance of laying ducksA total of 1200 Jinding laying ducks aged 28 weeks with laying rate being 90% and average body weight being 1.65 ± 0.15 kg per duck were randomly assigned four groups with 5 replicates per group and 50 ducks per replicate. They were control group(0% DDGS),12% DDGS group,18% DDGS group, and 24% DDGS group. All ducks were experienced 14 days preliminary trial period,3 days transitional period, and 4 weeks trial period.Compared with control group, the feed intake, laying rate, average egg weight, and feed/egg ratio of all Corn DDGS groups were not affected(P > 0.1),the feed/egg ratio of 24% Corn DDGS group was increased(P< 0.1).The color scores of egg yolk on 18% and 24% DDGS groups were significantly higher than that of control group(P< 0.01).The costs of egg per kilogram were lowered in 18% and 24% DDGS groups. The recommended supplementation level of corn DDGS from America was 18% by considering the results of laying performance and economic benefits of laying ducks.
