Antimicrobial peptides have all kinds of functions,such as anti-bacterial,anti-virus,anti-parasitic,regulating the immune response of animals,etc.The studies of antimicrobial peptides in ruminants mainly focused on improving the performance of dairy cows and the prevention and treatment of mastitis and the treatment of bacterial diarrhea in calves,effects of antimicrobial peptides on immune function in ruminants are rare.This study is to evaluate the effects of dietary additive of antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)"TaiKangLiBao" on serum immunoglobulin,cytokines,complement levels、lymphocyte transformation rate anderythrocyte immune function of 4-month-old Chuanzhong male goats,to confirmed effects of antimicrobial peptides on immune function in goats,to provides a theoretical basis for antimicrobial peptides"Taikanglibao"in raising sheep production.A total of 4-month-old 18 male goats were allotted to 3 groups on the basis of initial body weight(15.53±1.06kg),each group with 6 goats.Dietary treatments were I-normal concentrate group(300 g concentrate/a goat/day),Ⅱ-low dosage AMPs group(300 g concentrate + 2.0 g antimicrobial peptides/a goat/day),Ⅲ-high dosage AMPs group(300 g concentrates +3.0g antimicrobial peptides/a goat/day).After a week of pre-feeding test,the 60 day test was conducted,routine feeding management.On 0,20,40 and 60 day,4 goats were randomly selected from each group for collecting jugular vein blood samples to test immunoglobulin(IgG、IgM、IgA),cytokines(IL-1、IL-2、IL-6、IL-10、IL-12、IFN-α、IFN-γ、TNF-α),complement(C3、C4)levels and lymphocyte transformation rate and erythrocyte immune index.Results:(1)effects on Immunoglobulins levelsCompared with the control group,add2g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides"Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly improve the serum IgA content at day 20、40 and 60(P<0.01 or 0.05);antimicrobial peptides could significantly increase the content of serum IgM of goats at day 60(P<0.01).Add 3g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides could significantly increase the serum IgA contents at day 20、40 and 60(P<0.01);could significantly increase the serum IgG contents at day40 and 60(P<0.05);significantly increased the content of IgM at day 60(P<0.01).(2)effects on cytokines levelsCompared with the control group,add 2g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides"Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly increased of serum IL-1 contents respectively at day 40;significantly increased IL-2 and IL-10 content of goat serum(P<0.01 or 0.05)at day 20、40 and 60.Add 3g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides"Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly increased the contents of serum IL-1、IFN-α、TNF-α(P<0.01);increased the contents of serum IFN-y,IFN-a,TNF-a contents at day 40 and 60(P<0.05);could significantly increased the contents of serum IL-10 at day 60(P<0.01 或 0.05).(3)effects on complement levelsCompared with the control group,add 2g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides"Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly increased serum contents of complement C4 at day 40 and 60(P<0.01 or 0.05);add 3g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides could significantly increased C3 contents at day 40 and 60(P<0.05)and increased C4 contents at day 20、40 and 60.(4)effects on lymphocyte transformation rateCompared with the control group,add 2g/goat/day、3g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides "Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly increased peripheral blood lymphocyte transformation rate(P<0.01or 0.05).(5)effects on erythrocyte immune index.Compared with the control group,add 2g/goat/day、3g/goat/day antimicrobial peptides "Taikanglibao" in feeding of goats could significantly increased peripheral blood E-C3bRR and significantly decreased E-ICRR(P<0.01or 0.05).Conclusion:Antimicrobial peptides "Taikanglibao" could enhance the cellular and humoral immune response of goats,increased the contents of immunoglobulin,cytokines,complement and peripheral blood lymphocyte transformation rate and E-C3bRR,reduced E-ICRR.As a feed additive for ruminant animal production is more ideal than Antibiotics.In this experiment,we suggest the best adding dose of antimicrobial peptides "Taikanglibao" is 3 g/a goat/day.
