Deep foundation pit engineering is a complex system engineering.Foundation pit excavation in areas with abundant groundwater and high water level usually requires dewatering.Dewatering can not only ensure a dry construction environment for the foundation pit,but also increase the strength of the soil. The seepage caused by dewatering will also affect the lateral stress to the retaining structure. In order to systematically analyze the bearing behavior characteristics of the retaining structures and the stability of the foundation pit under effect of seepage,a foundation pit was taken as an instance for a numerical simulation study. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly the lateral in soil and earth pressure are introduced. Then this paper uses a deep foundation pit in Nanchang city as an instance to introduce the way the retaining structures and dewater plans are designed, and caculates the merchanics conditions of retaining structure and stability of the pit during the dewatering and excavation.Finete Element Mumerical method was used to analysis the pore pressure, the deformation and displacement of the soil and retaining wall and the lateral stress on the retaining wall.Comparative analysis of the displacement of the retaining wall was also made between caculated results and monitoring data. The results matched well with the monitoring data. The way the numerical model was made proved to be reasonable. In this paper, the soil parameters has also been further studied on the influence of the deformation of the retaining structure. The greater the permeability of the soil layer, the stronger the permeability caused by the seepage, and the more significant the influence on the deformation of the foundation pit.The greater the elastic modulus of the soil layer, the stronger the soil's ability to resist deformation.the deformation of the soil in the case of seepage is smaller.
