Study On Development Of High-performance Cable Asphalt Material

The total value of electric wire and cable product of China has already been more than that of the USA,which makes China being the largest country in electric wire and cable industry all over the word.Along with China's rapid development in the industry of electric wire and cable,the technical level improved greatly and the number of new enterprises is also growing rapidly.The electric wire and cable industry is now in a new rapidly expanding stage,but cable asphalt materials used as special asphalt product have different levels of quality in the current market.The suppliers are mostly small and medium scale enterprises that have weak research and development ability.Naphthenic base crude oil is the ideal material for producing asphalt,this article uses CNOOC SZ AH-70 asphalt,LD vacuum residue and QHD 32-6 vacuum residue as raw materials to research and develop a kind of high-performance cable asphalt material,which have high softening point?high penetration and great thermo-stability.All of the indicators meet and even are better than the requirements of SH/T 0001-1990,and also meet the needs of safety production.Finally,the production formula and process conductions are obtained,which would be further applied in the pilot and industry.Cable asphalt is prepared by choosing different process approaches(polymer modification,chemical modification,composite modification).During this process,influences of different polymers,dosage(by mass),shear tempreture and shear time on properties of cable asphalt were investigated.For the chemical modification,influences of different catalysts,dosage(by mass)and oxidation tempreture on the performance of cable asphalt product were investigated.Besides,composite modification preparing cable asphalt was also studied.Consequently,using SZ AH-70 asphalt as raw material through catalytic oxidation process to prepare cable asphalt were determined,the production formula and process conduction are as following: SZ AH-70 asphalt:4th side vacuumoil:catalyst C=100:30:3(by mass).Process condition is as following: reaction temperaturebeing 200?,flow of oxidizing air being 2.0L/(min?Kg).The quality indicators of cable asphalt are as following: softening point 91.06?,penetration 55.14(0.1mm),flashing point 281.4?,no trickle,adhesion rate100%,softening point raise 0.84? after hot storage,penetration ratio 93%.Implementing pilot plant and industry scale up test indicated that all indicators of the product met the quality requirements and the product has excellent performance as well as good practical application effect.
