Hot and humid environments are prevailing in daily life.Working in such environments brings a great challenge for worker's health and safety.Heat acclimation as adaption of environments can reduces physiological stress, along with improvement of psychology and work efficiency.Investigating the effect of heat acclimation,as well as the most effective methods of heat acclimation training,is of great significance for safety of hot and humid environments. However,on the one hand, the application of limited working duration and work efficiency to evaluate the safety of worker in hot environments is incomprehensive. The research about safety performance concerning the hot environment is lacking. There is still a knowledge gap about whether the heat acclimation can improve safety performance under hot environments. On the other hand, the effect of heat acclimation is determined by comparing the pre and post heat stress test, but most investigation was conducted in a specific environment, ignoring the potential of different performance under different test environment. In this paper,we introduce concept of safety performance into hot environment field.A device for measuring the ability of dodge is developed.Five Healthy-young men were recruited to perform heat acclimation training in 38?,40% environment for 10 days. All participants underwent heat stress test with different environmental conditions(combination of 32,35,38? and 40%,70%RH)before and after heat acclimation training.During the experiment, rectal temperature, skin temperature, sweat production, heart rate, blood pressure, fatigue, thermal sensation, thermal comfort, reaction time and dodge ability were measured. The data were analyzed by repeatedmeasured ANOVA,linear regression, and paired sample T test, and following results were obtained:Firstly, the dodge ability is sensitive to the environment, declining significantly after working in an environment of which heat stress exceeds a certain threshold. And the decline is positive correlated with fatigue and physiological stress. The probability of avoiding to the left is similar to the right. The dodge ability test system can present the safety performance of workers under hot environments. And what more, the heat acclimation can mitigate the decline of dodge ability.Secondly, the performances of heat acclimation depend on test environmental conditions.Except for systolic pressure and sweat production, heat acclimation has same effect on the measuring parameter but with different magnitude. With respect to systolic pressure and sweat production, the effects of acclimation depend on the environmental conditions. The influence of temperature, relative humidity on the effect of heat acclimation on various parameters were different. Finally,a linear relationship between heat-acclimation effect on PSI and WBGT is developed. There is greater effect on PSI when WGBT is higher.
