Public buildings are special structures with large water consumption in modern cities. As the cost of water consumption is irrelevant to individuals in public buildings, the leakage and waste of water are serious.During the long-term monitoring process in this project, the water consumption of a hospital and an office building is monitored, and the collected data is analyzed and processed.By analyzing the regularity of water consumption in public buildings, the water leakage situation can be obtained.Firstly, the water consumption in hospital is analyzed.By analyzing the regularity of the highest daily water consumption and the average daily water consumption in hospital, the leakage of domestic and drinking water in hospital is deduced.Through comparing the value of measured maximum daily water consumption and the calculated water quota according to the building water supply and drainage standard, analyzing the difference between measured maximum per second flow and theoretical value, and combining the amounts of people and beds in hospital, the leakage situation of domestic and drinking water was deduced.By analyzing the variation law of water use in the middle water and comparing the design parameters with the measured values and minimum water flow at night, the water leakage of middle water was obtained.Afterwards, the actual leakage of middle water was calculated by utilizing the method of minimum flow at night. As the water leakage in hospital is serious, the water saving scheme in public building was researched.By optimizing the design and operation of water supply and middle water pipeline, the optimization methods and water-saving schemes are put forward based on the current situation of water use in public buildings, and reasonable suggestions are proposed for water saving of public buildings. Finally, taking an office building after water-saving transformation as an example, the operation situation before and after the renovation of the sanitary ware was compared.By analyzing the water use law and design parameters, the energy loss and economic value were calculated, and the effects before and after the transformation were compared.Combined with the comparison of the design parameters in public buildings with the actual measured values, this paper also provides a reference for the revision and supplement of the specifications. The research results are of great significance for the water and energy saving of the secondary water supply system in public buildings.
