At present,fixed timing signal control is still the most widely used method in urban road traffic control.Under this kind of method,the implemented timing scheme is an important input for analyzing and optimizing the urban road traffic system,such as traffic system simulation modeling,traffic system performance analysis,and timing scheme optimization.However,in many practical situations,the implemented timing scheme in the field cannot be obtained.On the one hand,because many signal controllers are not well developed,they do not have the ability to record logs in the field.On the other hand,due to equipment failure,the timing scheme recorded in the signal log does not match the implemented one in the field.With the rapid development of traffic flow data collection technology and the large-scale popularization of data acquisition equipment,the acquisition of massive traffic flow data becomes possible.Based on the data of collected at the stop lines of the intersection,this paper proposes a data-driven implemented timing scheme estimation algorithm and develops a data-driven implemented timing scheme estimation software system.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)A data-driven implemented timing scheme estimation algorithm is proposed.According to the data collected at the stop lines and the lanes setting of the intersection,the signal period and time interval parameters are estimated respectively.Then the signal period is fine-tuned.Finally the green light start time of each phase is estimated,and the signal phase sequence are determined.(2)A data-driven implemented timing scheme estimation software system is developed based on the analysis of software system requirements.The system includes the signal timing scheme verification module,the data management module,and the timing scheme estimation module.(3)Using the developed software system,taking the intersections in Quzhou City as the application example,the two scenarios of the system in the field timing scheme estimation and the field timing scheme operation fault detection are studied.
