Gas sealing is one of the biggest challenges in the development of rotary engines,while the leakage influence on performance is more significant when the scale of rotary engine becomes smaller.In the current study of rotary engine leakage,the leakage area is assumed to be constant,without taking into account the gas leakage in the actual work process due to mechanical deformation,especially thermal deformation.In this paper,the leakage of the end face of the small rotary engine during the actual working process is calculated.In this paper,the zero-dimensional thermodynamic model is set up by the MALTAB/ Simulink software and simulating the cylinder engine operating conditions at different speed.The gas temperature,pressure and the heat transfer coefficient are obtained to provide boundary conditions for the next simulation.The temperature field model is established by finite element method.The result of the temperature field calculation is checked by experiment.Then the stress and strain field under the action of thermal load,mechanical load and bolt preload are calculated.The axial deformation and the clearance between the rotor and the front and rear cover are obtained.According to the gap between the rotor and the cover,the gas leakage area due to deformation during the engine operation is obtained.The mathematical model of gas leakage was established to calculate the end face leakage of the rotary engine.Then update calculation boundary conditions due to leakage,the end face leakage result is obtained by cycle simulation calculation.
