The fast socio-economic development after 1978 has directly driven the continued, rapid urbanization, during which there has been excessive pursuit of high-strength development and high-density construction.Faced with the housing shortage caused by the explosive growth of urban population and limited land resources,large-scale high-rise residential areas have emerged in cities and towns.Under the extensive development mode, its public open space presents the following problems: large spatial scale with small use area, fully equipped facilities with low usage rate and the various demands of different people. With the improvement of living standards, the quality of public open space related to the daily use of residents is being paid increasing attention.Taking the space features and residents’ demands as the starting point, this paper takes Jiangsu Haimen highrise residential areas as an example to study the influence of space features on resident activity volume.Firstly, from the perspective of residents’ demands and activity behavior, with the method of investigation and behavior map,the contradiction between residents’ use appeals and the basic facilities is analyzed,as well as the types of activities of different age groups and the use habits in sites.Secondly, according to the relevant literature and residents’ demands, the relevant indicators for characterizing the space features and the amount of residents’ activities are obtained.Next, entropy method is used to screen indicators.Thirdly, quantitative analysis method is used to analyze the impact of space features on the volume of activity from the three age groups of children, adult and the elderly for the ranking of influence gradients and the space features of different age groups.Based on this above, the space features of high activity volume come out, which adapted to adult, the elderly, children & adult, children & the elderly and the whole age.It provides references for the implementation of the people-oriented planning and design concept of the settlement as well as the ageappropriate transformation of the public open space in the residential area. |
