Study On Space Design Of The Former Site Of The Central University Medical College (Dingjiaqiao,Nanjing)

The former site of the Central University Medical College(Nanjing Dingjiaqiao)is located in the core area of Gulou District.It is now the location of the Southeast University Dingjiaqiao Campus and the affiliated Zhongda Hospital.It began to rise with the holding of the Nanyang Persuasion Association in 1910.After that,it was built by the former Central University Medical College,occupied by the Japanese army,and rebuilt when the former Central University Medical School returned to Nanjing after the end of the Anti-Japanese War.After 1949,the campus changed its name many times.Up to now,the campus still maintains the road texture and spatial pattern left by the Nanyang Persuasion Association,and has two historical buildings in the Republic of China as the physical remains.The area around the campus has been built into a densely populated area with functional complex.This location witnessed the development of Nothern Nanjing City since the end of Qing Dynasty,and also witnessed the historical inheritance of the former Central University Medical School for more than 80 years.Based on the project of Dingjiaqiao Campus Planning of Southeast University,this paper summarizes the history and development of Dingjiaqiao Campus.Based on historical investigation,site surveying and mapping,and planning analysis,this paper takes the spatial form and surrounding roads of the Dingjiaqiao Campus of Southeast University as the research object,and proposes planning strategies and design plans for the future construction of the campus.This paper is divided into five chapters: the first chapter introduces the topic selection,related research and research methods;the second chapter describes the historical evolution and spatial evolution of the former Central University Medical School;the third chapter analyzes the characteristics of the site and the historical buildings;the fourth chapter combined with historical research and current situation research,proposes the planning strategy of the Dingjiaqiao campus of Southeast University.and discusses the design from four aspects: traffic integration,spatial remodeling,physical design and historical building protection and utilization;the sixth chapter rethinks the shortcomings in the research and design process,and proposes a vision for the future.
