Buddhist temple is a place for religious activities and residence,and a space embodiment of Buddhist culture.Under our country's protection strategy for religious buildings,many famous Buddhist temples have been preserved as cultural relics and historic sites,and have become an important part of cities' historical heritage.At the same time,in the context of the protection of intangible cultural heritage,some ritual activities of Buddhist temples and surrounding folk activities have also survived.However,many ancient building communities that have been rated as national key protected cultural relics in the counties and villages are subject to varying degrees of destruction,and non-material cultures such as ritual sacrifices have the increasing tendency to disappear.Therefore,to review such buildings and the ritual activities that exist in them from different perspectives is to show them basic respectBased on the basic theory of architecture,this treatise does research into Ciyun Temple.It introduces Bourdieu's field theory from sociology,conducts research on the architectural space and ritual space of Ciyun Temple from the perspectives of time and space,and describes the process of the temple' s formation and development,looking to explore the temple from a sociological perspective.Through on-site survey and mapping of Ciyun Temple and analysis of the building layout space,this treatise summarizes its characteristics and laws.Referencing local historical literature and the material concerning applying for national key protected cultural relics,this treatise conducts follow-up investigations into religious sacrifice ritual activities to analyze the influences on Buddhist temple space formation and development by studying the shape development and changes of Ciyun Temple buildings as well as the existing religious sacrifice rituals in the temple.Using Bourdieu's field theory as a theoretical foundation and research tool,the composition of the Buddhist temple space is analyzed from the perspective of the architectural field and the ritual space field,and then the formation reasons and mechanism of the Ciyun Temple space are found out.And a comprehensive understanding is formed for the relationship among three facets—the evolution of the temple building space,the influence of local folk culture and religious ritual activities.Finally,by analyzing and summarizing the Buddhist temple space,this treatise determines the influence of social development and cultural factors on the future development of Ciyun Temple,and offers reasonable suggestions for better and reasonable protection and use of Ciyun Temple in its subsequent developmentThrough systematic research and analysis,the treatise demonstrates that the causes and mechanism of Ciyun Temple are closely related to local politics,economy and culture.Ciyun Temple reflects the development and evolution of the local economy,religion,culture and construction techniques in different historical periods,and has historical and artistic value.At the same time,it concludes that social development and cultural factors will play a decisive role in the future development of Buddhist temples.Therefore,during the later development,while protecting its architectural culture and regional folk culture,Ciyun Temple will also follow the trends of different times.
