The Design Research Based On Iterative Inspect Method For Medication Management Product Experience

Iterative Design is a key and important design scheme revise and improvement method and thinking mode.In current internet product development and production process,iterative design thinking has been applied to every phases.For example lean design mode which faces product design process and agile development mode which faces product development mode.Based on different development phases of iterative design,the design inspect methods are also different.This paper is based on the background described above,researching iterative inspect method in the real design development work,proposing a new iterative inspect mode and being used to optimize the design inspect and evaluation process of a medication management software,providing a reference for product design process of the same type of products.This paper starts with analyzing and concluding current design development mode,related iterative design inspect mode and respective application environment and phases.Later on,this paper went through common brands of medication management software on market,focusing on collecting medication management problems that’re still waiting for solution,locating and determining users’ potential future needs for this product.Thirdly,this paper proposed a design inspect mode based on iteration which is suitable for medication management product experience design,and explained this method’s advantage.Lastly,by using the design process example of a student-faced medication management tools-GT-MEDS,this paper explained that the newly proposed design inspect mode can help optimizing and verifying medication management products5 final design efficiency,providing satisfactory and trustworthy design solution scheme.The innovative points of this paper is to provide a design and iterative design verification methodology which can be used for medication management products and such similar products,acting as the outline for guiding the next design direction.The research on this topic has bring interaction expert and real users,combining with qualitative evaluation and quantitative test methods,it has several advantages as below:1.Low costs.Heuristic evaluation usually can be done in just several hours,therefore is a good fit for quick and iterative user testing,especially for the iteration of early stage product prototype;2.High efficiency.Based on the research of Nielson Norman,heuristic evaluation can help find 75%-80%usability problems with 3-5 evaluators;3.Good design verification.For the shortcomings that might be brought by heuristic evaluation,the usability testing round which are participated by real users in late stage,can help diminish the impact on product evaluation from product expert bias,insuring the correctness of design revise direction.This research and paper has provided a new thought on quick design and iterating medication management product,providing reference for related and similar product design process.This research can contribute to improving the efficiency of design of products which has complicated functions and diverse user needs,lowering down product development costs.
