As an important part of Intelligent Transportation System(ITS),Vehicle Ad Hoc Network(VANET)has made great contributions to road planning and resource scheduling. In addition to helping vehicle users to obtain a safer and more convenient driving environment,VANET also has enormous economic benefits.Based on VANET,service providers can provide targeted customized services such as network access and advertising push. Therefore,as a network with important practical application value and great development prospects,VANET has become a hot research field in recent years, and has been closely watched by domestic and foreign governments and scientific research institutions. However, since VANET is a network deployed in public areas and is based on the structure of wireless ad hoc network,it has the characteristics of huge network scale, open communication environment, and unstable wireless network, making it extremely vulnerable to attacks. In addition, vehicles are often closely related to the driver's personal privacy information,so vehicles also face the risk of privacy leaks during communication within the network. Therefore, the security issue is the key research aspect of VANET.In order to popularize VANET,information security and privacy protection issues must be considered. In view of the characteristics of VANET,such as rapid change of network topology, high real-time requirement and unstable wireless network connection quality,it is necessary to develop an efficient and secure communication protocol for VANET,which not only guarantees its safe data transmission, but also ensures its good operation performance. In this paper, the efficient and secure communication protocol in VANET is discussed and studied. The main research contents are as follows:1.The characteristics of identity-based communication protocols in VANET are analyzed, and a series of security requirements for these protocols are proposed. In addition, some efficiency problems of identity-based communication protocols in VANET are proposed.2.According to the characteristics of VANET and the requirements of communication mechanism,an identity-based secure and privacy protection communication protocol is proposed. The innovation of the protocol is that it uses Lagrange interpolation and algebraic signatures instead of the bilinear mapping commonly used by current data transmission mechanisms to provide integrity protection, significantly reducing computational costs. In addition, unlike the current scheme of using pseudonyms to protect privacy, the protocol uses a very efficient algorithm based on identity to encrypt the real identity of the vehicle, thus avoiding complex pseudonym management processes and reducing computational overhead.3.The security of the new protocol is analyzed in the random oracle model, which proves that the protocol meets the protection of privacy, confidentiality and integrity.4.The simulation and data analysis of the proposed communication protocol are completed, and the proposed protocol is verified and evaluated. The experimental results show that the protocol has better performance than other current protocols.
