Purchasing management is about providing a solution to the company to secure the sustainability of materials supply.Purchasing management including the supplier selection,supplier evaluation,supplier management and material planning.Supplier management is an important part of purchasing management.This paper starts with the explanation of the purchasing management and supplier management definition,practice principles in theory.Then use these theories to analysis the purchasing structure,supplier selection and supplier performance,and provide an inside to the supplier management of B company(BMW).This article analysis the supplier management of BMW company while comparing to the competitors’ action in China.Staring from the company structure,the suppliers’ selection,to the supplier performance evaluation,this article analysis the key issues in BMW purchasing management.Then this article propose solutions to these key issues in accordance,hoping these solutions can help BMW to improve its supplier management level.The content of this article not only bring a new research angle to the global OEM purchasing management in China,but also provide a good change for the world to have a look inside the operation of this giant big brand OEM.The analysis to the practice of BMW may be helpful to optimize the purchasing theory and logistics theory.
