| Based on the rapid development of urbanization,the trend of medium-sized cities’ motorization is obvious,which gradually exceeds the carrying capacity of the existing urban roads.With the traffic congestion,ecological environment deterioration and other problems,public transport,especially the construction of medium and high volume public transport system,has become the key to solve the urban problems.However,the construction cost of mass transit represented by subway is high,the construction period is long,and the local finance is hard to bear.Moreover,due to the subway planning ahead of schedule and serious construction disorder,the State Council further improves the rail transit construction standards represented by subway,and a large number of cities with medium and high traffic construction needs are difficult to meet the relevant requirements.Therefore,no matter from the perspective of economic efficiency or policy requirements,medium volume public transport is the first way to solve the traffic problems in mediumsized cities,and it is more in line with the objective law of urban evolution.Based on the matching theory and transportation economic theory,this paper systematically summarizes the relationship between public transport mode and urban form.The overall scale and spatial distribution of urban form affect the traffic demand of urban residents.Under the construction of public transit metropolis,the public transit system is the main body to meet the travel demand of residents.As an important part of the public transit system,the public transit mode will have an important impact on the traffic supply capacity.Its coordination and interaction with urban form will promote the matching of urban traffic supply and demand and improve the traffic resources The efficiency of resource allocation promotes the sustainable development of cities.Different stages of urban development have different forms,different traffic demands and different requirements for public transport construction.Therefore,this paper takes the contribution of medium volume public transport to the coordinated development of public transport system and medium-sized urban form as the core to evaluate the applicability of medium volume public transport in medium-sized cities.Medium volume transportation mainly includes tram and BRT,but considering that BRT construction has more advantages in cost investment and construction difficulty,and has strong flexibility,and through the review,it can be seen that the application of BRT in domestic cities is relatively higher,and the research on BRT construction is more meaningful for domestic cities.Therefore,this paper takes BRT as the main research object.Based on the theory of transportation economy and the case of Curitiba,this paper analyzes the interactive and coordinated evolution mechanism of urban form and urban traffic,studies the influence of urban scale,population and employment distribution on urban traffic,especially on the choice of traffic mode,and determines its feasibility in combination with the technical and economic characteristics of BRT.At the same time,it analyzes the urban form of BRT with accessibility as the core The impacts include the impacts on urban spatial structure,population distribution and industrial economy.This paper systematically expounds the interaction mechanism between the two,verifies that BRT is suitable for medium-sized cities and promotes the sustainable development of cities,which is the basis of empirical research.In the empirical aspect,it constructs the coordination efficiency analysis model for quantitative research,and selects Changzhou as the research case to construct the evaluation index system.The efficiency evaluation model of coordination degree includes the following three parts:(1)use the principal component method to analyze and calculate the urban spatial form and public transport development index;(2)use the fuzzy mathematics method(PCA)to calculate the coordination;(3)use the correlation analysis to calculate the influence of various factors on the coordination degree.By calculating the coordination degree of Changzhou in the past 10 years,this paper analyzes the role of BRT system construction on coordinated development,and analyzes the influence of various factors on coordinated dispatching,and concludes that BRT construction has an important contribution to coordination efficiency.After affirming the important role of BRT in the coordinated development of urban form and urban traffic,this paper analyzes the more mature cases of BRT construction at home and abroad,and summarizes the experiences and lessons of urban development of BRT as follows: BRT network planning should be consistent with urban land layout,multi-level network construction to meet different traffic needs,improve economic efficiency,improve comprehensive quality to attract passenger flow and realize public transport
