With the rapid development of the economy and the speedy expansion of cities,urban rail transit lines have continued to extend from the central area to the periphery of cities,even to the suburban counties.Such lines generally have long operation distance and passenger flows have some characteristics,such as uneven time-space distribution,tidal characteristics and so on.The traditional operational plans for trains with single operational mode can meet the basic travel demand from passengers.The problems such as increased passenger travel time,reduced vehicle utilization rate,and increased travel congestion made the single operational plan unsuitable for long-term lines.So it is of great practical significance to study the operational plan of multi-type trains to solve some current problems like the increasing travel time.This study summarizes the research and successful operation experience of multi-type trains operational plan at home and abroad,and incorporates the multi-type train operational plan with the real-time train diagram through a bi-level programming optimization model.The main works are summarized as below.First,the study summarizes the current situation of urban rail transit in China,and explains the significance from a theoretical and practical point of view.The direction and content of this work are proposed through the research and summary of the multi-type trains operational plans.Second,this work analyzes the connotation of multi-type trains operational plans by basic concepts,the advantages and disadvantages between traditional single-type operational plans,as well as application cases.The work summarizes the applicability of multi-type trains operational plans in view of passenger flow and line conditions.Third,a bi-level programming model is designed to optimize the multi-type trains operational plan combined with train timetable.The upper model aims to find the operational plan with minimal travel time of passengers.The lower model applies the periodic event planning model to verify the feasibility of operational plan from the upper model and analyze the actual operation process of trains.The periodic event planning model is applied for accurate calculation of travel time since the stop time and running time will fluctuate due to the possibility of overtaking during the actual operation.Forth,according to the characteristics of the model,design a genetic algorithm to solve the problem.A multi-type trains operational plan is obtained based on the data of an actual line and passenger flow to testify the applicability and efficiency of model and algorithm.The obtained operational plan are compared with single-type train operational plan.Moreover,the optimization results of the multi-type trains operational plans under different passenger flow conditions are analysis through the type of trains,passenger travel and turnaround time.This work provides an effective way for exploring the operation and organization mode of urban rail transit lines to execute a multi-type train operational plan.
