A Semiotic Study On Government Buildings In Manchukuo Period

After the September 18 Incident in 1931,the Northeast China was occupied by the enemy.In the second year,the puppet regime Manchukuo was established.The capital was Changchun,which was called “Xinjing”.During this period,large-scale urban construction was carried out in Changchun.Among them,the official hall building called “Manchu style” was the representative building of this period.At present,most of the research results on the Puppet Manchurian official hall building is from the aspects of “architectural decoration” and “architectural restoration”,laying particular stress on the study of the appearance and neglecting the study of connotation and significance.However,the inner meaning of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building has research value,either in the historical background at that time or in the social background of nowadays.Therefore,it has academic significance to study the architectural form and significance of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building as a whole.Based on the theory of semiotics,this paper analyzes the characteristics of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building,from three aspects,namely,the semeiology,the semantics and the application,to deconstruct the architectural symbols,so as to make an in-depth study of the form and significance.Firstly,the paper discusses the symbolic form of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building from the perspective of semeiology.Secondly,it discusses the meaning form and classification of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building from the perspective of semantics.And then it discusses the information transmission process and significance of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building from the perspective of application.Based on these three perspective theory,this paper analyzes the State Council and others of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building,combing out a relatively complete creative method of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building,and reinterpreting the Puppet Manchurian official hall building.At the end of this paper,on the level of symbol composition,from the aesthetic principles of the surface structure and the transformation of the deep structure of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building,the paper sums up some creative techniques,such as quotation,topology,collage,etc.On the level of symbol meaning,according to the semantic representation and classification of the architectural symbols of the Puppet Manchurian official hall building,this paper sums up such creative techniques as symbol,abstraction,expression,etc.From the use of symbols,based on the building and its influencing factors,this paper summarizes the creation methods of materials,colors,light and so on.Through the study of these design techniques,we can learn more about the Puppet Manchurian official hall building.
