Practice Of Project Design For Earthen Buildings Culture Exhibition Hall,Yongding County,Fujian Province

Under the background of sustainable building and the protection and development of traditional villages,traditional dwellings made of rammed earth have reappeared in people's vision.Due to its high ecological cost-effectiveness and wide geographical adaptability,a large number of earth architecture exists in our country.However,its inherent material properties and mechanical defects have gradually made it to a symbol of dangerous house and poverty.In China,the research on modern earth architecture has just begun,and lacks scientific research.In areas where the earth buildings in Fujian are concentratedly distributed,rammed earth are widely used due to local materials and ecological sustainability.The traditional rammed earth construction has continued for hundreds of years in the local area and is a common memory of local villagers.However,due to the limitations of the rammed earth,the empiricalization of the construction technology,and the inefficiency of space construction,the traditional earth buildings are facing development difficulties.The local traditional rammed earth construction technology and modern living production methods are incompatible.Base on the background,the traditional village protection and development conference was held in Fujian.The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development commissioned our team to carry out the demonstration and promotion of modern rammed earth architecture in the Hakka Folk Culture Village in Hukeng Town,Yongding District,Longyan City,Fujian Province.The spirit of village protection and development is the guiding principle to improve the development difficulties of local traditional villages,and then awaken the collective memory of local villagers and give full play to their subjective initiative.Earthen Buildings Culture Exhibition Hall of Yongding is under this background.This paper systematically records and sorts out the entire process of the design and construction of the Yongding Earthen Buildings Cultural Exhibition Hall,from the earth research,design principles and strategies,architecture design to on-site design and construction technical guidance.First,based on the previous survey and analysis,analyze the three aspects of climate,local traditional construction technology,geography,and resource conditions to determine the design principles and strategies;then carry out architecture design research,including basic analysis and conceptual design,and determine the final plan;then research on construction drawing design,including the selection and design of each part;finally,on-site design and construction technical guidance to complete the construction of the exhibition hall.After the project was completed,we evaluated the construction effect and verified the design principles and strategies from three aspects:construction difficulty,economy and energy consumption.The whole process from design to completion of the project is also the process of the demonstration and promotion of modern earth architecture in Fujian.This practice further explores the possibility of modern rammed earth construction technology,and trains a group of modern rammed earth workers.At the same time,the project also focuses on the excavation and application of local construction techniques and explores the ecological potential of modern rammed earth buildings in Fujian from local traditional construction techniques.
