| As the "accelerator" of economic development,transportation infrastructure can not only directly drive capital inflow and bring related industry development,but its operation can also reduce the transportation cost of enterprises and accelerate the flow of factors.As one of the transportation infrastructure,air transportation infrastructure that accelerates the flow of production factors and optimizes the allocation of resources in economic activities serves as a rapid pipeline of economic development.This study explores the impact of air transport infrastructure on the upgrading of China’s industrial structure.Theoretically,this research is based on the theory of industrial structure upgrading.By sorting out the literature on the upgrading of industrial structure by transportation infrastructure,it finds the mechanism of the impact of air transportation infrastructure on the upgrading of industrial structure.From its direct impact,air transportation infrastructure has greatly shortened transportation time,reduced transportation costs,attract time-series competition and high value-added industries to promote the advancement of the industrial structure.From its indirect impact,air transportation infrastructure promote the upgrading of the industrial structure by promoting international trade and strengthens FDI’s attractiveness of city and technological innovation.At the same time,based on the panel data set of 282 prefecture-level administrative units constructed from2007 to 2017,this study quantifies the upgrade of air transport infrastructure and industrial structure,uses air connectivity to characterize the development of air transport infrastructure and uses Moore values to calculate the changes in the industrial structure of each city.Based on this,multiple econometric regression methods such as fixed effect model,random effect model,2SLS regression,and threshold model are used for empirical research.The results show that air transport infrastructure can significantly promote the first Industry,secondary industry,accommodation and catering,real estate,transportation,storage,postal,wholesale and retail,and financial industries have evolved in sequence,but the impact has obvious regional differences.The air transport foundation of eastern cities have the strongest industrial upgrading effect,followed by the western region,and the industrial upgrading roleof central cities is not obvious;In order to verify the indirect mechanism of air transport infrastructure through the promotion of FDI inflow and technological innovation to promote the upgrading of industrial structure,this study also builds separately Air transport infrastructure inflows to FDI Research on Technological Innovation,the results show that air transport infrastructure can significantly promote the development of urban FDI inflows and technological innovation,and it support strongly conclusion that air transport infrastructure could promote industrial upgrading. |
