Research On The Form Of University Campus Based On Density Index System

Density index has always been one of the key methods for urban planning and design to control urban form,which has a significant impact on the built environment and architectural form.In morphological research,density index is often used as a tool to understand the generation and change of urban space.Although the quantitative methods of urban design density have emerged in an endless stream,the research on campus density in China is still in its infancy.According to the scale and type of running a university,the university campus applies the area index of ordinary university,obtains various construction indexes,combines with the school demand planning and design,and obeys the national or regional urban overall planning and land overall utilization layout.Up to now,the construction of university campus is in the high-intensity metabolism of expansion,new construction and relocation.Many early planning defects are causing various problems such as the difficulty of expansion,confusion of form,poor space quality and so on.To some extent,these problems can be attributed to the imprecise formulation of indicators.With the introduction of the national land intensive policy and the local index standard,the university campus planning in the new era is drawing on the past experience,not only putting forward higher index requirements for the space quality,per capita area and plot ratio of the campus,but also its development strategy is increasingly closely connected with the urban form.However,although the current campus planning has quite mature theoretical support and continuous innovation,its planning strategies and methods are mostly macro and qualitative judgment level,rarely focusing on quantitative analysis or density index analysis,especially the research of university campus form.In order to obtain the sustainable development of university campus form,the new and old campuses in the new era must adopt the corresponding density strategy to obtain the form effect of sustainable growth and preventable shrinkage,and provide the elastic space and space demand forecast for each stage of planning and development.Therefore,the area index of Ordinary Colleges and universities is difficult to become the absolute dogma and constraint of university planning.Although the density index can provide accurate statistical data,the existing density indexes describing the building volume and land are diverse and different in standards.Moreover,a single data can not fully convey the actual shape and planning intention.Therefore,in order to make the form and development intention of university campus more accurately described and the design of campus form more sustainable,this study attempts to explore the impact of the existing density index system on the description of campus form,analyzes the practical cases with the help of spacemate matrix,and proposes a design strategy of Campus form based on the index system.This paper is divided into five chapters: the first chapter summarizes the research status of campus form and index at home and abroad,defines the concept of index system and campus form,and establishes the research context of their interrelation;the second chapter makes a macro analysis and index analysis of university campus construction index in China,and puts forward that university is changing from "form" to "quantity";The third chapter puts forward the grading index system of university campus,and puts forward the method of analyzing university campus form by spacemate matrix based on the understanding of binary correlation;the fourth chapter analyzes four practical cases by spaccemate matrix and puts forward the optimization scheme,and summarizes the new characteristics of university campus space form on the basis of index comparison;The fifth chapter is the elaboration of the form strategy,which provides the qualitative supplement to the quantitative research of the above chapters,in order to enhance the research persuasion.
