Energy crisis and environmental pollution are two major problems that all over the world have to face in the 21st century.Because of widely and heavily used,the diesel engine is a major energy consumption tool and environmental pollution source.How to reduce the energy consumptions and emissions of diesel engines is the primary problem faced by many scholars.Heavy oil is a kind of fuel with great potential.Compared with light fuel oil,it has sufficient reserves and low price,but poor atomization effect and more smoke generated from combustion.Therefore,it has been used as a fuel for large medium-low speed diesel engines and is seldom used in small medium-high speed diesel engines.Emulsified oil technology can improve fuel atomization and effectively reduce smoke emission,but the stability of emulsified oil is poor.By combining the two,emulsified technology can improve the atomization and combustion of heavy oil,reduce smoke emissions,and expand the application area of heavy oil.In the meantime,due to the composition and properties of heavy oil,emulsified heavy oil is more stable than other emulsified fuel oil.Research on the application of emulsified heavy oil in high-speed diesel engine can not only improve the energy structure,promote the diversification of energy supply,but also reduce energy consumption and pollutant discharge,which is of great significance to solve the energy crisis and environmental pollution.In this paper,a new emulsified heavy oil with excellent stability was tested on 1135 high-speed diesel engine.The influence of the parameters of diesel engine injection system,including injector nozzle parameters and fuel supply advance angle,on the fuel economy and emissions of emulsified heavy oil was studied.According to the results,suitable parameters were selected to HW10,HW20,HW30 and light diesel fuel,and their combustion and emission results were compared and analyzed.The study found that:when burning HW10,among the three kind of nozzles used in the test,4*0.36mm*150°nozzle had the best effect.After replacing the 6*0.3mm*150°nozzle of the original engine,the economy and emission performance of the diesel engine were greatly improved.The oil supply advance angle has a great influence on the emulsified heavy oil combustion effect.When the 15°CA oil supply advance angle that applied to the light diesel oil was offered,the emulsified heavy oil was not burned completely,the maximum cylinder pressures were low and the fuel consumptions and emissions were high.However,the emulsified heavy oil was normally burned at 17°CA and19°CA oil supply advance angles.Among the three kind of emulsified heavy oils,HW10 has the worst combustion effect due to its high viscosity and low water incorporation rate.Only NO_X emission was lower than that of light diesel fuel.The combustion efficiency of HW20 was better than that of HW10.The fuel consumption rates,NO_X emissions and smoke emissions were all lower than that of HW10,but the fuel consumption rate of HW20 was still higher than that of light diesel oil.HW30 has a higher quality base fuel with low viscosity and high water incorporation rate.There were a large number of liquid beads in emulsified fuel oil with fine particle size and great atomization during combustion.The fuel consumption and NO_X emission were the lowest.Compared with light diesel fuel,its fuel consumption decreased by more than4.2%in medium and high loads,NO_X emissions decreased by more than 32%in each loads,but both smoke and CO emissions were higher than light diesel fuel.
