At present, the construction of electrified railways is in full swing.Passengers are accustomed to the rapid and efficient travel of railways while demanding the safety and reliability of railway power networks. The last line of defense in reliability.Because the railway line is located in a complex and volatile external environment, faults occur from time to time, and the connection of overhead lines and cables is more difficult to troubleshoot. In order to quickly find the fault point and reduce the accident loss caused by the fault, the determination of a hybrid line fault location algorithm suitable for power transmission lines has become a fundamental strategy for strengthening the last line of defense.First of all,it is determined that the fault location is studied by the traveling wave method, which has high positioning accuracy, and is not affected by factors such as line asymmetry and transformer transformation errors, making it the best choice for fault location.Aiming at the key fault feature—the identification of transient traveling wave heads,an empirical mode decomposition(EMD),variational mode decomposition(VMD),and wavelet transform were proposed to decompose the traveling wave signal noise, achieve singularity detection, and wave head time.Judgment feasibility.By comparing the three evaluation criteria of signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),relative mean square error(RMSE),and decomposed waveforms in the frequency domain, the wavelet transform theory is applied to decompose the noisy voltage traveling wave signal, and the initial maximum value is judged by the modulus maximum State traveling wave head.Secondly,Based on the analysis of common fault location methods,a simulation fault point mapping method is proposed. This method uses the consistency between the simulated fault point and the actual fault point at the moment of fault occurrence, and obtains the fault distance by simulating the mapping relationship between the fault distance-time characteristic curve and the actual fault distance-time characteristic curve. The Simulink simulation model of a 10 k V hybrid line is constructed based on the characteristics of the power transmission line.Under the variables of the transition resistance, the initial phase angle of the fault and the fault type, the influence of the variables on the transient traveling wave transmission is studied, and the feasibility of the fault location method is verified accuracy. Finally,Based on the existing experimental equipment,a hardware system for hybrid line fault location is constructed, and a hybrid line fault location system is formed with a software system based on Lab VIEW.The experimental verification with the simulated fault point mapping method is effective.
