The surface contact stress and tooth root bending stress,load contact pattern,load transmission error and other load contact characteristics obtained by the face gear load contact simulation analysis are the basis of the face gear parameter design,these can reflect the strength and dynamic quality of face gear in practical application to a certain extent.In existing literature,the finite element model of the face gear pair is constructed by the combination of CAD and CAE software,this leads to inadequate accuracy and low modeling efficiency of tooth surface.Therefore,this paper proposes an analytical modeling method for the finite element model of the face gear pair,and compares the loading contact characteristics of the face gear with different fearures of tooth surface,in order to provide a theoretical reference for the design and practical application of face gear.The main research results of this article are as follows:1.Based on the principle of differential geometry and face gear meshing,the tooth surface equation of the theoretical tooth surface of the face gear developed by the gear shaper is derived,and considering the edge contact,exploring the influence law of installation error on the geometric contact characteristic of theoretical tooth surface by tooth surface contact analysis;A general calculation method for the assembly corner of the face gear finite element model is proposed,and a method based on programming software to output the face gear transmission finite element mesh model and pre-processing settings,and through on Hertz contact stress analytical calculation,light load simulation and other processes verify the correctness of the theoretical tooth surface finite element assembly model constructed using this method.2.According to the relative position and motion relationship between the plane cutter and the face gear,the coordinate system of the cutting-edge gear of the plane cutter is established,and the tooth surface equation of the approximate surface of the toothed gear is derived;In order to synthesize the motion law of the tool to determine the approximate tooth surface of the face gear processed by the straight-edge tool,three contact paths are preset,and the approximate tooth surface is analyzed by TCA under the consideration of edge contact and installation error;Using the above finite element modeling method to construct a finite element mesh model of approximate tooth surface transmission;The analytical calculation method for deducing the tooth root bending stress by the cantilever plate method,combined with the tooth root bending stress,overcutting amount and other conditions,finally,the minimum value of the straight edge cutter radius is determined to be 0.48 m.4.The geometric contact characteristics of the theoretical tooth surface and approximate tooth surface of the face gear are compared and analyzed.It was found that the positive and negative misalignment caused the geometric contact paths of the theoretical tooth surface and the approximate tooth surface to shift to the outer diameter and the inner diameter,respectively,and the geometric contact paths of the theoretical tooth surface is more sensitive to the misalignment;The misalignment makes the geometric transmission error amplitude at the edge contact position of theoretical tooth surface and the approximate tooth surface is increased sharply,and the geometric transmission error of the approximate tooth surface is more sensitive to the misalignment;the misalignment of the shaft angle has the most obvious effect on the geometric contact characteristics of the theoretical tooth surface and the approximate tooth surface.In the case of alignment and misalignment,analyzing and comparing the load contact pattern,surface contact stress,tooth root bending stress,load transmission error and other load contact characteristics of theoretical tooth surface and approximate tooth surface.The results show that the contact strength of the approximate tooth surface is reduced,the bending strength of the root of approximate tooth surface can be higher than theoretical tooth surface o the condition of the contact path is preset according to the angle of the tooth face;The influence of the misalignment on the contact characteristics of the approximate tooth surface of the face gear is higher than that of the theoretical tooth surface,and the contact strength and bending strength are reduced,which tends to aggravate the impact and vibration.
