At present,with the rapid progress of science and technology,people have higher and higher requirements for modern machinery,especially in the field of aerospace,instrumentation,the need for improving the gear transmission system is increasing.Therefore,according to the needs of modern science and technology,gear design optimization is in line with the development trend of modern machinery,and it is also essential to improve the level of related science and technology.In recent years,the face gear transmission system has played its unique advantages under the condition of high speed and heavy load.Compared with the traditional form of gear transmission,face gear transmission structure is simpler,transmission stability,good power split characteristics,strong bearing capacity,small space occupation.It is an essential part of the practical application of face gear transmission to study the theory of face gear transmission and explore the transmission principle.In this paper,the mathematical models of orthogonal face gear and nonorthogonal face gear are analyzed,calculated and generated.The mathematical model of face gear transmission with small tooth difference is obtained.The tooth profiles at different positions of face gear with small tooth difference are analyzed and compared,and the changing process of tooth profile is obtained.The maximum outer diameter and minimum inner diameter of face gear without tip sharpening and root undercutting are calculated,and the variation law of tooth width between face gear and face gear with small tooth difference is analyzed.The threedimensional solid model and meshing transmission model of face gear with small tooth difference are constructed.The meshing transmission of face gear with small tooth difference is small shaft angular transmission.Therefore,it is necessary to determine the correct transmission conditions.According to the principle of gear meshing and differential geometry,the geometric position relationship of face gear with small tooth difference is deduced when it is meshed correctly,and the equation for determining the meshing state of face gear with small tooth difference is given.In this paper,the interference form of face gear with small tooth difference is proposed,the common interference conditions of face gear with small tooth difference are determined,and the change law of tooth profile position in the meshing process of face gear with small tooth difference is obtained.The variation of pressure angle in the meshing process of face gear with small tooth difference is analyzed,and the definition method and calculation formula of coincidence degree are proposed.In this paper,the contact form of face gear with small tooth difference is analyzed,the position of contact point,the magnitude and direction of principal curvature are calculated,and the variation law of principal curvature with the angle of shaper tool is proposed.Based on Hertz theory,the contact area and the change of contact stress between tooth surfaces in the process of small tooth difference face gear to face gear transmission are obtained.Then it is verified by finite element software.
