| Transmission lines are an important part of the power system and are responsible for the transmission of power in the power system.Because transmission lines are mostly dominated by overhead lines,long paths,and complex geographical environments,and most of them are over the mountains and across many mountains and rivers,they are vulnerable to various internal and external factors and cause fault trips.Among them,lightning trip has always been the most important factor affecting the safe and stable operation of transmission lines.According to relevant statistical data,the number of trips caused by lightning strikes accounts for 50% to 80% of the total number of trips in the year.The tripping of transmission lines caused by lightning strikes has long threatened the safe and stable operation of the power grid.The research and application of lightning protection technology for transmission lines is one of the long-term concerns of power systems.In recent years,with the rapid development of the economy in Shaoguan,the demand for power supply reliability has become higher and higher.Shaoguan City is located in the northern part of Guangdong Province,and most of the areas are mountains and hills.Due to the complex terrain and the harsh atmospheric conditions,and the transmission line corridors are mostly mountainous areas,the people are inaccessible,the line operation and maintenance workload is large,and the tasks are heavy.However,the situation of the transmission line tripping caused by lightning strikes in the Shaoguan power grid has occurred frequently.Therefore,it is urgent to study the application of lightning protection technology for transmission lines,effectively improve the lightning resistance level of transmission lines,and reduce the lightning trip rate of transmission lines.This paper takes Shaoguan Power Grid as the research object,and discusses the research and application of lightning protection technology for transmission the corresponding transmission lines in different levels of lightning strikes are also different.The analysis shows that Wengyuan County has the highest frequency of lightning activity and is at The
