Research On Urban Fabric Renovation Of Zhaoqing Fuqianlu Historic District

Since the reform and opening up,with the rapid progress of China's urbanization process,the infrastructure of cities has been improved,the size of the city has expanded significantly,and the functional structure has been improved.However,there are a large number of improper urban construction activities,destroying the traditional style of historic districts,"cannibalizing" the urban fabric which is formed over a long period of time,interrupting the urban context and street life.How to accurately grasp the development context of the historical urban fabric? How to explore its characteristics,spatial patterns and multiple values? How to protect and restore it reasonably,so as to continue the urban context and social life? These questions are the focus of this study.This article selects the urban fabric of Zhaoqing Fuqianlu historic district as the research object.Firstly,the study combs the theoretical works related to urban fabric.Generalize the definition,composition and characteristics of urban fabric,as well as the classification and evolution of urban fabric in historic districts,so as to guide the analysis of its value and problems.Secondly,through the research of domestic and foreign excellent practice cases on renovating the urban fabric of historic districts,the study summarizes three ways of renovating,which are “weaving the urban fabric to continue the urban context”,“ repairing the urban fabric to reshape the historical style”,and “reconstructing the urban fabric to meet the needs of the times”.Thirdly,through the research of historical maps and documents,the study generalizes the construction process of Zhaoqing Fucheng City where Fuqianlu historic district is located.With the in-depth and detailed on-the-spot investigations,the study analyzes the evolution and current situation of the urban fabric of Fuqianlu historic district,and refines its spatial model to summarize the problems.Fourthly,combined with the protection planning and development positioning,the study proposes the objectives,principles,and measures for renovating the urban fabric of the historic district of Fuqianlu.From the perspectives of protecting the street fabric to strengthen the historical structure,updating the node space fabric to enhance the vitality of the city,repairing the historical fabric to reshape the traditional style,and weaving the urban fabric to continue the historical context,the study puts forward the method of renovating and designing the urban fabric of Fuqianlu historic district.Finally,the study reflects and summarizes the thesis,and puts forward the shortcomings of the research and the future prospects.
