| Urban roadway guide signs,should provide direct and accurate guidance services for road users.As an important part of traffic management,friendly and easily comprehensible layout design of roadway guide signs can effectively improve road capacity,reduce traffic accidents,and improve road driving safety.However,due to the great differences in regions and road networks,the legends of the guide signs layout design in the current national standards《Road traffic signs and markings—Part 2: Road traffic signs》(GB 5768.2—2009)cannot fully coverage the road networks characteristics,resulting in the distinctive layouts in different cities,showing a chaotic phenomena of design,which gives great trouble to road users.Firstly,the elements of layout design forms of roadway guide signs on urban roads in China were summarized,and the close relationship between the efficient,convenient travel of drivers and the layout design of roadway signs was clarified.From the perspective of the driver’s dynamic visual characteristics,the process of recognizing the guidance signs for drivers in the road network environment was expounded.Secondly,the typical layout design expression forms of 8 large cities in China were collected,and the deficiencies in the design expression were analyzed;indoor static comprehension experiments of the different layout design forms were designed and conducted.The reasons that the driver’s understandings do not meet the actual road network were analyzed.And a recommended layout form of guide signs was given based on the tests.Then,from the habits of driver’s cognitive,an evaluation model of guide signs layout which based on entropy weight-TOPSIS was established.The entropy and weight of evaluation index of guide signs in different cities were calculated,and the layout design expressions of different cities were ranked.Compared with the experimental results,applicability of the model is verified.Finally,aiming at the deficiencies of the model,some corrections and improvements are made,the reliability of the research results are further improved. |
