With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in recent years, traditional villages have faced many problems of protection and development. In the context of the current country's implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the formation and development of traditional village space is worthy of attention.Taking Chengkan Village in the core region of Huizhou culture as an example, based on literature review and field research, from the perspective of tourism destination life cycle theory and cultural ecosystem theory, using mathematical statistical analysis methods, spatial syntax and landscape ecology methods, this paper analyzes the spatial growth process of Chengkan village from ancient times to the present, and constructs the traditional village spatial growth process. The idea of stage division summarizes the spatial growth characteristics in different stages, and summarizes and analyzes the role played by different influencing factors in different periods.Through the above research, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The spatial growth process of Chengkan Village can be divided into 5 life cycle stages:miniature, development, heyday, fluctuation and regeneration. From the end of the Tang Dynasty, the Luo clan moved to Chengkan village, and the space was embryonic. From the late Northern Song Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty, the Luo clan grew stronger and the space expanded northward. From the mid-Ming Dynasty to the mid-Qing Dynasty, after the large-scale transformation of the Chengkan village, the spatial pattern was fixed. At the end of the Qing Dynasty,Chengkan Village was in a stage of undulating development. From the 1990 s to the present, the traditional spatial pattern has been preserved and the space has been rejuvenated.(2)The characteristics of traditional villages spatial growth are as follows: The residential units are from aggregation to division, the public buildings are from point to network, and the direction of new buildings changes orderly, and the density of new buildings decreases. The level of streets and lanes is from single to system, the shape of the plan is from irregular to smooth, the scale of streets and lanes is from narrow to wide, and the distribution of nodes increases along roads and water systems. The center of the overall spatial structure is from the inside to the periphery, the clusters are concentrated from the center to the uniform arrangement, and theboundary shape is from the cluster to the finger.(3)The combined effect of various influencing factors such as nature, culture, economy and society has promoted the spatial growth process of Chengkan Village. These influencing factors include the limiting role of geographical environment and resource capacity, the leading role of Geomantic Omen culture, clan ideas and philosophical ideas. In addition, the promotion of agricultural production, commercial development, tourism development, and transportation conditions. And the impact of social background, demographic changes, and government policies. This article innovatively builds on the theoretical basis of cultural ecosystem theory and other relevant theoretical foundations, and builds a theoretical framework for traditional village spatial growth research. It uses rational analysis methods and multidisciplinary research methods such as spatial syntax and landscape ecology methods to research the complete process of spatial growth of Chengkan village,on of the typical Huizhou traditional villages, from the formation to current. The characteristics of buildings, streets, nodes and overall shapes of Chengkan village in each period are summarized, and the specific role relationships of natural, cultural, economic and social influencing factors are summarized. These provide important reference for the protection and utilization of traditional villages, the revitalization of rural culture and the construction of urban and rural human settlements.Figure [38] table [4] reference [136]...
