The stabilization effect of the anti-rolling tank is independent of the ship’s sailing speed.In the anti-rolling tank at an appropriate height from the middle line of the ship,the stabilized moment is generated by the mass force and inertia force generated by the fluid flow.U-shape and planar rectangular structure are usually adopted to realize the fluid interflow between the left and right sides of the tank.The anti-rolling tank and fluid constitute an elastic system with damped mass.When its natural period adapts to the period time of the hull,the effect of directional resonance will produce stabilization effect.And because of its advantages of easy maintenance and simple control has been widely used,especially scientific research ships,rescue ships.Polar research vessel,such as shipping,need to be able to in the north and south poles of the bad weather conditions the observational studies of large area,and has the function of open channel of other vessels equipped with anti-rolling tank and anti-heeling system,can realize the function of roll damping,has the bad sea conditions such as the arctic research ability.Aiming at the application of the anti-rolling tank on the polar scientific research ship,the paper firstly analyzes the potential kinetic energy of the fluid in the anti-rolling tank,and establishes the equation of fluid motion in the cabin through the principle of virtual work.On this basis,considering the coupling of fluid motion in the cabin and the rolling motion of the ship,a coupled motion model of "hull-in-cabin fluid" is established,and the influence of external disturbance is further considered.Secondly,the structural parameters of the anti-rolling tank are designed for a polar scientific research ship.The structural parameters of the water tank are optimized by the iSight software coupled with Matlab.The simulation model of ship-water tank-external disturbance is established in Matlab.Through the simulation of regular wave and irregular wave,the anti-rolling capacity of the anti-rolling tank designed by the polar scientific research ship is analyzed,and the design index requirements are met.A preliminary study was carried out on the control method of the anti-rolling tank.Thirdly,the CFD pre-processing software Gambit was used to model the two-dimensional and three-dimensional structures of the designed anti-rolling tank,and the commercial CFD software Fluent was used to complete the anti-rolling tank and its cabin under the regular wave of different excitation periods.The CFD numerical simulation of fluid motion obtained the inherent period characteristics of the anti-rolling tank.According to the analysis,in this state,the water tank has a good stable torque characteristic near the resonance period,which lays a foundation for the subsequent bench test.Finally,for the anti-rolling tank designed by a very low scientific research vessel,a 12:1 scale-reducing tank model was constructed,and the bench test and the ship model pool test were carried out.The test results show that the reduction is The shaking water tank can effectively reduce the rolling motion near the ship’s harmonic period,and at the same time obtain better results when the water tank frequency is slightly higher than the ship’s harmonic frequency.The anti-rolling tank anti-rolling effect designed for a polar scientific research vessel can meet the design index requirements.
