At present,traffic congestion has become a serious problem in our country and even in the world,so the development of public transport has become the inevitable choice of social development.Although subway and light rail can solve the problems of traffic congestion and environmental pollution to a large extent,they are not suitable for small and medium-sized cities in China due to their high requirements for terrain,capital and personnel.The new tram has moderate traffic volume,low construction cost,energy conservation and environmental protection,which just meets the traffic demand of small and medium-sized cities in China.Many cities in our country have been vigorously researching and developing new trams.As a key node connecting the urban road network,the smooth traffic operation of the intersection is the key to affect the whole traffic operation.Therefore,to study the traffic condition of the new tram,we must start from the intersection.This article first introduces the operation mode of the new type of tram from the perspective of the right of way of the new type of tram and the way of laying the track.Then it analyzes the signal control method of the new type of tram through the intersection and compares and analyzes various signals.The advantages and disadvantages of the control method and schematic diagrams of different signal control strategies are given;after that,the traditional timing signal timing model with the smallest average delay of vehicles as the goal is considered.The length of the green light distribution for the new tram is largely ignored.We pay attention to the per capita delay,so we proposed a timing signal timing optimization model.The model uses the parking line method to calculate the capacity.The Webster method is used to derive the per capita delay calculation formula.The model is solved and redistributed using MATLAB.The green light duration of the new type of tram is introduced;then on the basis of the timing signal timing optimization model,the new type of tram is controlled by the intersection induction signal,and the traffic benefit function is used as the prerequisite for the implementation of priority control.Finally,taking a specific intersection as an example,the intersection of timing signal control,optimized timing signal control,and active priority control are simulated under three control strategies.The first two only need to allocate the duration of each phase signal,the latter need to be in The induction control program is written in the VISVAP module,and the data obtained by the three simulations are summarized and analyzed,and the average vehicle,per capita and queue length are used as evaluation indicators.The results show that after implementing the optimized timing signal control and the new tram priority control strategy,the overall vehicle delay,per capita delay and queue length of the intersection are reduced.The control effect of the three from traditional timing signal control to The optimized timingsignal control and the priority signal control of the new type of tram will increase in sequence.
