| The residential district is one of the inseparable basic units of the city and an important part to organize people’s daily lives.For a long time,a large number of large-scale closed settlements have brought problems such as traffic congestion,unpopular street,and low utilization rate of public facilities to China’s urban development.In 2016,China began to promote the "block system",and all kinds of research and programs came out at one time.However,the definition and vision of residential quarters have not been understood by the public.Two years have passed and the residential neighborhood has gradually been forgotten.Through the perspective of architecture and multi-disciplinary comparisons,this paper hopes to be able to clarify the connotation of the residential blocks in China’s "block system" and explore the strategies for the development of residential blocks in China.First of all,by sorting out the existing theories and literature on the "block system",clarifying the relevant definitions and characteristics of "urban residential blocks" and discovering the existing problems.Secondly,sort out the history and case studies of the development of residential blocks in China and the West,and understand the internal operating modes of urban blocks and the multiple influencing factors.Compare the different trajectories of the development of residential areas in China and the West,and understand the internal causes of China’s existing residential neighborhoods.And according to the research conclusion by investigating the existing urban blocks in Hangzhou,try to understand the operating modes of the influencing factors behind the material environment,summarize the advantages and disadvantages.Finally,in the face of the new era background,propose the vision of living quarters and feasible strategies from the perspective of urban design,block management,and urban control,and obtain the reference made to the future practice of design management of residential blocks. |
