Container liner shipping is an essential part of international shipping market and global trade transportation.Because the shipping market in recent years by the world political and economic turmoil factors impact, container liner transportation enterprise management environment is increasingly severe. As a tactical decision of shipping enterprises, ship allocation decision directly affects the business efficiency and development of enterprises in the future.Container liner shipping enterprises need to make reasonable and effective decisions based on the existing information and resources,so as to improve their operation level and market competitiveness in the shipping market. As the container shipping trade volume is greatly affected by the change of the external environment, liner shipping enterprises need to adjust the route distribution plan in time to adapt to the change of shipping trade volume. However, the decision-makers usually cannot accurately obtain the demand information before the decision,so it is necessary to consider the uncertainty of the transportation demand in the shipping route allocation decision, improve the effectiveness of the shipping route allocation decision, and at the same time reduce the operational risk of container liner shipping enterprises under the fluctuation of trade volume to some extent.Compared with other uncertain optimization methods, the two-stage robust optimization reflects the hysteresis of demand information, which is closer to the real decision situation to some extent,so the decision result is more in line with the expectation of decision makers. This paper analyzes the research background and significance of the ship allocation problem, summarizes the research characteristics on the basis of reviewing the existing research results, and introduces the research contents and methods of this paper. The theories of liner transportation, ship allocation and uncertain optimization are summarized systematically.According to the research problems and related research results, the optimization model of ship allocation problem is constructed with the goal of cost minimization by considering the voyage cost of container liner transportation, chartering cost and profit, container handling cost and penalty cost of unmet transportation demand. Then, according to the deterministic model, the two-stage robust optimization method is used to construct the ship allocation model with uncertain requirements, and the C&CG algorithm is used to solve the model. In this paper,a numerical experiment is designed to collect and calculate the relevant parameters of the statistical model and verify the rationality and effectiveness of the model.According to the results of numerical experiments, the solution results of the two-stage robust optimization model are analyzed and summarized. The calculation results show that the ship allocation scheme based on the two-stage robust optimization model can effectively cope with the impact of the uncertainty of demand, and at the same time there is a certain balance space between economy and decision robustness. Finally, the limitations of the research and future research directions are summarized.
