The development of port capacity in the early days was mainly limited by the level and number of terminal loading and unloading technologies.Nowadays,with the rapid development of global trade,the scale of throughput of major ports in China's coastal areas has increased day by day,which has accelerated the speed of port industry production in mechanization,intelligence and high-efficiency as well as large-scale development of ships.The "bottleneck"of port capacity development has gradually shifted,and channel capacity has become the main factor limiting port capacity.The channel capacity refers to the total tonnage of cargo or the total number of ships that may be likely to pass through the cross section of the channel under a certain condition,and it is the embodiment of the channel's ability to handle ship traffic.The seaport navigation system is a typical random,complex and dynamic discrete system.Traditional mathematical models cannot truly express the capacity of the channel and reflect the dynamic changes in the operation of the seaport operation system.However,the rapid development of computer simulation technology has greatly made up for the shortcomings of pure static theory research.This paper is based on the characteristics of the Jinshan channel's waterway crossing,shallow points which need continuously tiding.Based on a thorough understanding of the navigation environment of the Jinshan channel,this paper statistically analyzes the traffic flow data of the channel and the surrounding waters,and master the current situation of traffic regularity of research waters and arrival ship structures.And to maximizedly restore the state of the channel operation system,using the new generation of "intelligent object-oriented"simulation software-Simio to built 3D solid modeling of the Jinshan channel operating system taking into account the tide,ship safe time interval,ship random arrival,natural conditions interference,etc.And the feasibility of the simulation model is verified by comparing historical traffic flow statistics,incoming vessel traffic,and port cargo throughput.Then,based on the predictions of throughput and arrival ship types in different planning years,using validated simulation models,simulation calculations were conducted for the channel capacity under different planning years.Comparing the traffic capacity of different ship types in the planning year and the traffic volume of the planning demand under the navigation conditions of the Jinshan channel at this stage,the results show that the water depth of the Jinshan channel at this stage is limited and cannot meet the planning needs of the service port area.Finally,based on the arrival ship structure in the planned year,combined with theoretical derivation,the channel dredging plan is designed,and the passing capacity under different channel design water depth conditions is simulated and calculated.The results show that when the design water depth of the channel reaches 12.07 m,it can not only meet the full load navigation of all planned ship types,but also meet the planning capacity needs of the service port area.This article can provide some reference for the parties involved in the planning and construction of the fairway and port operations.
