Most farmhouses in cold areas of Henan province widely have the indoor thermal environment issues,such as same indoor outdoor temperature experiences and high overall energy consumption,by reasons like unreasonable functional layout and partition and outdated materials used,etc.As the envelop enclosure plays an important role in the farmhouse architectural structure,the boost of its thermal performance will be of great significance to the improvement of the whole indoor thermal environment.Based on the demonstration research program of the key technology for the low energy green farmhouse,this dissertation analyzes and summarises the deficiencies for the farmhouses in Henan cold areas through field research and literature studies.With farmhouse selected as study object,the corelation between thermal performance and indoor thermal environment has been illustrated via the software simulation and quantitative analysis on the envelop enclosure energy consumption and its indoor thermal environment.Aiming to improve the indoor thermal environment,this paper firstly presents changes in terms of matierals and structure for the envelop enclosure’s exterior walls,roofs and windows.Secondly,it evaluates the energy performance of the measures by simulating the energy consumption and indoor thermal environment.Lastly,the improvements have been verified via the demonstration of optimal design practice of the envelop enclosure for rural houses.
