According to Chinese epidemiological investigation,the incidence of falls among the elderly in different regions and environments was between 15%and 35%,and this ratio was higher 38%-67%in foreign countries.Improving the elderly's stability could effectively reduce the elderly's physical control ability to reduce the risk of falls.The distribution of plantar pressure could reflect potential foot-related sports injuries,and it was also used in the elderly.Orthoses was a device for appling human body,which could provide additional protection and support the human body.So,it could increase the stability of the limbs and change the feeling of the sole of the foot.This project aimed to study the effect of the application of orthoses related to foot movement function in the elderly,and analyze the effects of different orthoses on the limb stability and plantar pressure distribution of the elderly.Twenty healthy elderly people(?60 years old)were selected as subjects.Participants weared 7 different orthoses(soft and semi-rigid knee orthoses;soft and semi-rigid ankle-foot orthoses;base insoles,support insoles and wedged insoles).Then,the testing included static test(standing on double-leg for 20s and standing on one-leg for 10s)and dynamic test(walking at natural speed).The Kistler 3D force measurement system was used to collect the center of pressure under static and dynamic conditions,and the effect of the orthoses on the static and dynamic stability of the elderly was analyzed.The Footscan was used to collect the foot pressure distribution under dynamic conditions.It was analyzed the impact of orthoses on the change of plantar pressure in the elderly.Through experiments and research,the following conclusions were obtained:First,on static conditions,wearing soft and semi-rigid knee orthoses could effectively improve the elderly's static balance ability.Semi-rigid knee orthoses mainly improved the elderly's balance ability in the ML direction,and soft knee orthoses mainly improved the elderly's balance in the AP direction.And,semi-rigid knee orthoses might be slightly better than soft knee orthoses in improving the elderly's static balance ability;wearing a semi-rigid ankle-foot orthoses could improve the elderly's static balance ability in the AP direction,but wearing a soft ankle-foot orthoses would affect the elderly's static balance;wearing wedged orthoses could effectively improve the static balance ability of the elderly.Second,on dynamic conditions,wearing semi-rigid knee orthoses mainly played a positive role in supporting the balance ability of elderly people in MSt.Wearing soft knee orthoses mainly improved the balance ability in LR.Semi-rigid knee orthoses were mainly manifested in the ML direction,and soft knee orthoses were mainly reflected in the AP direction;wearing a semi-rigid ankle-foot orthoses could significantly improve the dynamic balance ability in the ML direction;foot orthoses could effectively improve the dynamic stability in MSt,but the wedged orthoses also increased the dynamic balance ability in the AP direction in LR.Compared with the orthers,the wedged orthoses had the best dynamic stability.Third,wearing of orthoses reduced the plantar pressure in the forefoot of the elderly,but showed the pressure concentration in other parts of the foot.The knee orthoses increased the load-rate and time-integral of the heel,and the ankle and foot assistive devices Foot aids increase midfoot pressure.Orthoses could improve the stability of the limbs and the quality of exercise with the elderly.But,at the same time,the injuries caused by the excessive concentration of plantar pressure on the foot mask should be avoided.
